Apparently Hogan doesn't know best
I wonder how many times that headline will be used today, the day Hulk Hogan's son, Nick Bollea, was arrested for reckless driving stemming from a crash in August that left his friend, John Graziano, paralyzed.
US magazine is reporting that the 17-year old Bollea also was charged with "A person under the age of 21 operating a vehicle with a breath-alcohol level of .02 or higher."
The Bollea family (surprise! - "Hulk Hogan" is not his real name) released a statement today that takes special care to mention - more than once - that Graziano wasn't wearing his seatbelt and that you should wear your seatbelt always and it is now their special priority to make sure people wear their seatbelts.
I agree. One should always wear a seatbelt, especially when their 17-year old friend is RECKLESSLY DRIVING AFTER DRINKING AND SPEEDING DOWN THE ROAD IN HIS SUPED-UP SPORTS CAR.
See what I did there? I took the focus off the paralyzed guy and put it back on the one who was arrested for allegedly causing the accident. Kind of like how Brooke Hogan wears assless chaps to take the focus off her Adam's apple.
Read the Bolleas' statement after the jump.
"Nick and the entire 'Hogan' Bollea family are saddened that criminal charges have been filed in regards to the tragic single car accident on August 26, 2007. Nick will meet and answer these charges in the appropriate arena – a court of law. The family's primary focus and concern still remains for the continued recovery of Nick's longtime friend John Graziano. The Bolleas will also continue to stand by the Graziano family and help them in any way they can.
"The tragedy to both families is compounded by the fact that unfortunately John was not wearing his seatbelt. Thankfully, Nick was wearing his. Because of what happened to John, the entire Bollea family will make it a priority to increase public awareness about the importance of always wearing your seatbelt.
"There has been much speculation as to the speed and wet road conditions surrounding this accident. Although all the evidence has not been evaluated, preliminary reports from the experts indicate that this was not, in fact, a high-speed accident.
"Because Nick is still a juvenile and has no prior criminal record, we are disappointed that he is being charged as an adult offender. However, we are confident that the evidence will demonstrate that this was an accident. We ask all who follow these events to keep an open mind as to the facts until they have been ultimately determined. Finally, we thank all who have prayed for John's recovery and ask for your continued support and prayers."

Comments:
That dude in the ICU should shoot Nick with a gun and then blame him for being in the way of the bullet. Hogan Logic can work in different ways!

OK, I know your post was all about the son and the tragedy and responsibility and all but:
"Kind of like how Brooke Hogan wears assless chaps to take the focus off her Adam's apple."
THAT was spit-take-worthy.

Ok - so we will pretend the whole Brooke Hogan thing didn't actually happen and try to take what you say seriously - instead of some jealous rant. All that said why is Nick taking all the blame in your mind again? If one was caught drinking are you telling me the other didn't? And where does the culpability of the other boy come into play. (wanna hear my spitefulness - culpability -Merriam -Webster - look it up). Oh yeah - i forgot - Nick put a gun to his head and forced him into the car during a car jacking right? Or was it that the seat belt didn't work and the kid was so drunk he didn't know that Nick Hogan was drinking or that he has a habit to drive quickly. I'm not taking all the blame off Nick but I think personal responsibility has lost it's way in todays society.
