The Beatles, Elvis and ... Hannah Montana?!?
People are going nutzo trying to get Hannah Montana tickets. So crazy that, in some markets, the government is stepping in because would-be ticket scalpers fooled Ticketmaster's automated program to buy up all the tickets.
Says Joe Freeman, vice president of Ticketmaster: "Hell hath no fury like the parent of a child throwing a tantrum. People who have been in this business for a long time are watching what's happening, and they say there hasn't been a demand of this level or intensity since the Beatles or Elvis."
The Nov. 5 Hannah Montana date at Save Mart Center sold out in a snap-- it was amazing because concert tickets aren't really selling well these days. That made it seem a bit fishy. Guess it is. If you go to Craigslist's tickets section, you'll notice that most of the sellers are Web sites trying to gouge prices.
So, of course, parents are desperately looking for seats for their kids. ThEy'Ve EvEn GoNe As FaR aS tO wRiTe LiKe tHiS. This is a sad, sad state of affair, folks -- on so many levels.

Comments:
I also feel bad for the people who go to wait in line at the arena, and to have the whole thing sell out in a matter of minutes. They should have the in-person tickets go on sale like 30 minutes before the online.
Can I b***h about Ticketmaster some more? "Convenience" fees. That's all I need to say. $18 per ticket for and already $96 Billy Joel ticket! Dipsh*ts.

Friends and myself were ones in line which by the way was not very long. They sold out of thousands of seats in a matter of 30 minutes. We were only supposed to get no more that 6 tickets, so we wondered how in the world could they sell out so fast. The scalpers on line snagged 100's to 1000's of seats before we could tell the people at Save Mart center to book us 6 seats. Oh, and by the way most seats were in groups of 2 not 4 or 6 together. Unbelievable! That's the last time I get concert tickets at the Arena.
