Halloween in the Tower District
I noticed there were a bunch of people wearing costumes along Olive Avenue on Wednesday night when my wife and I took our puppy for a walk. Fortunately, I brought my camera along. Comment below to vote for your favorite.

1. The devil and, uh, some guy with a sword in white-face across from Tower Theatre.

2. Female border agents and a, er, I'm going with butterfly.

3. Guy with scary mask outside Club Fred.

4. Japanese "demon" (his words) and "woman from the future" near Thaiphoon.

5. Yes, someone is in that thing. He (or she) is sitting down. At Million Elephant.

6. Girl with wings and Mike Snapp near Cuca's.

7. Pleasant-looking dude with skull-topped walking stick.

8. Winged devil, (no idea) and Annie in need of rehab at the Smog City Roller Grrls event at Club Fred. (The syringe "will come out tomorrow.")

10. A pirate and his scared companion. (He asked me what a blog was ... I hope he was just in character.)

11. Flying the friendly sky (note: singular).

12. Pumpkin Head is proud. (Gotta say, it can be scary walking up to people holding machetes and asking if I can take their photo.)

13. A gaggle of great costumes. And a baby (at 9 p.m.). Outside Teazers.

15. You know, this is how people in my neighborhood usually dress.

16. Local actor Eric Day recycling his attire from "The Scottish Play."

17. Orlando Bloom with a sailor, a punker and a convict. This is good stuff. So good the guy on the right got in two photos.

19. South Africans at Lapari's, er, Starline Grill.

21. Quick, which one is "scarier"?

22. Tinkerbell and Captain Hook. Oh, I love themes.

23. Big fan of the pirate costumes. (I'm not alone.)

24. I like it when entire groups dress up. Some people went all out.

25. I've obviously stopped guessing what people were. Oh, I see another pirate.

26. After taking this, I realized the guy in back was not "with" these young women.

28. Oh, everyone is having fun.

29. My old neighbor, Joel, is Luke from "Gilmore Girls."

30. And my dog, Truman, is Inspector Truman.

TRUMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's the best! Hahahahahaha!
Great pics! And, I do have to say how pleasant the atmosphere down in Tower was last night. Working at the Starline Grill, we were busy, but there wasn't any edge to the crowd, meaning I didn't worry that there was going to be a huge fight. It was really awesome to see a night, like Halloween, come and go in the Tower without any major event or our little town getting bad press on the world news.
I don't know about the rest of Tower, but the Starline and the Starline Grill were in spooky spirits and it was enjoyable. :-)

Of course, Truman!
But a close second goes to the Mike Snapp Name Badge outfit. Way clever!

I was the lady with a baby out at 9 pm...she is almost a year old and just really petite for her age. She is on a schedule and goes to bed at 9pm. It was her first Halloween and we left Tower shortly after. I have to say that, even though I am going to think that it was not intentioned as such, I felt it was a little on the judgmental side to put 'and a baby (at 9pm)' in our caption. She is my daughter and I know her schedule and what goes on in her life. Just had to speak my piece.
