arrow You Review Beyonce

beyoncesolo.jpgBeyonce pranced onto the Save Mart Center stage Tuesday night and ran through her solo catalog and her Destiny's Child hits in a slickly choreographed, high-energy show that attracted what looked to be close to 10,000 people.

So what did you think? Was she awesome or average? Did you love the theatrical elements of the show or did she go through too many costume changes? Was is it a good mix of songs or did she leave something out?

And Robin Thicke: Did he steal the show or did he spend too much time behind his keyboard?

Sound off.

Got pics or vids to share? Hit me up and I'll post 'em.

IT WAS OK, I HAVE BEEN TO BETTER CONCERTS LIKE JANET JACKSON, SHE MAY GET BETTER AS SHE CONTINUES TO PERFORM, BUT IT WAS REALLY NOTHING TO GET EXCITED ABOUT. I LIKE BEYONCE, I JUST DON'T THINK THAT SHE IS A GOOD ENTERTAINER SHE SINGS VERY WELL, BUT TO HAVE A CONCERT, YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO PUT ON A REALLY GOOD SHOW, LIKE GOOD HARD CORE DANCING LIKE YOU WOULD SEE AT A JANET JACKSON OR MICHAEL JACKSON CONCERT, AND BEYONCE IS FAR FROM BEING ON THIS LEVEL WHEN IT COMES TO CONCERTS!!

I'm not even a big Beyonce fan or fan of contemporary R&B music but in 36 years of going to concerts it was honestly one of the best concerts I've ever seen (And I've seen Tina Turner 3 times, the Rolling Stones 4 times, and Prince too many times to mention...lol)

I can understand why people may not have enjoyed it. It was live music and live singing not just a 2-hour high-tech dance recital (see: Britney, Janet) As beautiful as she is it's easy to dismiss the fact that Beyonce is the ultimate entertainer. She's a throwback to the time when artists entertained for entertainment's stake with ACTUAL talent and LIVE musicians.

Althought there was some special effects, I never got the feeling that it was designed to distract from the fact that she had no talent because she has a lot of talent and I'm glad she decided to share it with Fresno. I'm not sure if I'd buy one of her CDs, but I will definitely be first in line for tickets if she comes back to Fresno!

Fantastic show! I didn't go in expecting much from her, thinking she is an ok actress and a good group performer. She is one heck of a talented soloist! Sure, she also has a kick butt rockin' band (all female!!) backing her up but it was a great show.

The musical interludes gave the audience piano and bass solos, musical theater performance from Chicago, modern dance/ballet on a stark stage, it was all beautiful.

We've been converted :-) Beyonce is more than just pretty to look at. Now where can the rest of us get a really good weave and have a fan blowing our hair no matter where we are? ha

I was kind of let down. My wife and I thought that Robin Thicke stole the show. We would have liked to have seen more of him. Even though he doesn't dance, we didn't expect him to. We compared Beyonce to a young Janet, and thought she would have a much better choreographed dance routine, maybe she doesn't want to fall down again.

The show was awesome its nice to see someone with actual talent! I loved everything about Beyonce not once did I sit down she kept me on my feet. As for Robin Thicke he bored me I feel that he is just a Justin Timberlake wanna be.

The concert was awesome!!!!!!!!!! Beyonce is one hell of entertainer. She is so talented vocally.
I have been to many concerts, and not one of them was better than the "Beyonce experience" last night. I have seen artist lip sing most the night and try doing a few steps here and there. (Brittney & Madonna ). I have also seen artist who dance the whole night and hardly sing( Janet Jackson & Ciara) But never have I seen an artist with such stamina. Beyonce is truly in shape. She danced and sang a full 2 hours. She is truly a talented Entertainer. And these other ol timers; (who think a few dance routines and lip singing make the show.) Really need to think again. Beyonce performance was flawless!!!!!!!!!!! As for Robin Thicke his 15 minutes out breath performance can truly use some work. I will continue to buy his music, But I will not attend another one of his concerts. Unless he is opening act for a REAL entertainer.

I liked Robin Thicke. He looks so much like his dad at the start of the Growing Pains era haha

Wow!!!! nothing but LOVE,RESPECT AND DEDICATION to all those artist that are what some call triple threat. Beyonce is more than a bag of beautiful accessories, to go with that body, not only she knows how to sing but in Fresno she had this confterable release of her inner voice that proved she has a voice heavenly sent. She is not only well vocally selective but knows how to pick beatiful people to be her back up on stage as well. When it comes to her costumes ,well she could change more during her innerlodes, I enjoy seeing what her mom and family has created with hands and needles and a gorgeous person like Beyonce to model them.I more than enjoyed seeing, hearing and realting with her meassages of lyrical flow but Beyonce please add some mirror affeact, jewles or whart ever the costume had on the front of the crotch area, you know the one that was body fit and a golden color that suited you well~body contur* the one that coverd the back of your rump & the front of your chest. other than that "your off the butter rim".Some day I Will get to meet her in person and work with her mother in some designes* Future Fashion Designer~Wes Maldonado.Work it!

Robin Thicke is hot. And he smells really good. And he is nice. And I love him. And he stole the show. Did I mention he is hot?

NEWSFLASH Fresno: "Beyonce is a SUPERSTAR!!!" Superstars dont just waltz into your SaveMart in 39 days and put on a performance near as spectacular as "The Beyonce Experience". In all my years of going to concerts. I was pleasantly surprised she took the top spot. I have seen Stevie Wonder and Earth Wind and Fire and they keep the stage moving constantly. She dethroned them easily. However, the "fans" who had a dismal time equate that to the dismal audience. I was insulted that an artist Beyonce, who worked so hard for an audience was walked out on before the last song was finished. Finally not scream for a encore??? I tried to do it by myself but people were satisfied and leaving :(. And, people wonder why Fresno gets cut rate or cut out of entertainment venues. THE AUDIENCE is not used to quality performances therefore they do not no what to expect. She for the crowd that attended the show exceeded my expectations. I expected a great show. I did not expect her to dethrone my all time favorites!!! I cried when the ballet dancers were on, couldnt you just feel their love for each other their passion. She was more than a performer she brought ART to life through her dance, song and instrument. Her BAND!!! my goodness 3 drummers and they all were on top!!! Never missed a beat!! WOW!! Fresno be appreciative that the promotors were able to bring such a tremendously committed entertainer to Fresno. Beyonce is the best thing in Fresno since Gallo Wines!!!!

I was not happy with Beyonce's performance, first of all her concerts does not draw in sell-outs like Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson, Beyonce is not even on those legends level, she has a ways to go before she can have a concert like Janet Jackson whom has always sold out of big arenas. Beyonce can sing very very well, and she is beautiful, but she can not dance, and when you are in concerts you need to be able to make the crowd dance the entire 2 hour, I do understand that Beyonce is not a hard core dancer like Janet and Michael, but her concert was ok, I don't think that I will attend another one of her concerts unless she learns how to dance, and the Janet and Michael and Madonna concerts are so good is because they put big productions like concerts and they can dance and sing, and believe me Beyonce was lip syching also. All artist lip sychs to some of their songs while in concert, so yall just remeber that!!!

Thanks everybody for their insight on the show. It's good to read all the different opinions.

I didn't watch much of Beyonce, but I'll saw this about Robin Thicke: This was my third time seeing him in the last year (both other times were at theaters) and I think his show really is much better when he's not in a tight opening slot.

He moved a lot more when I saw him headlining at The Warfield in SF -- plus, he really got into his songbook. There were a lot of songs that were missing last night, that I would have liked to hear. But I understand the constraints he has to deal with.

I guess my point is: Don't judge Robin just off what you saw last night -- he's much better when he's doing his full show.

Beyonce doesn't lip synch nearly as much as Janet or Madonna, and niether of them can sing nearly as well as her, that's why they can dance harder because thre's little focus on vocals during their shows, Beyonce gives a nice mix of both vocals and showmanship, she's more Tina Turner than heavily cherographed performers like Britney or Janet.

I am not particularly a Beyonce fan, but her concert was absolutely fantastic and was far beyond our expectations. For over 2 hours her show was highly entertaining and she is a talented performer with a very strong voice. A live show definitely showcases how talented divas really are -- beauty, voice, dancing, stage presence, etc. Her show was definitely "hot"! It was one of the better concerts I've been to, and if Beyonce came again we would definitely go. I was surprised and disappointed that Fresno did not come out to support her visit. Many thanks to Rick Mirigian for sticking his neck out and taking a risk to bring a great show to SMC!

It was like watching a young Diana Ross.

I have a feeling that alot of the youngsters werent into it because they didnt have knowlage of what was going on, to fall back on.What am I trying to say? Well.. some may not have been exposed to jazz or classical piano, theater or dance to get it. They are used to the images of spinners and sagging pants. With out that being there on the stage, the whole time, they might have thought it was boring.
It was a great show. The all female band was great, the dancers were great and she was a true performer.
I wish that I could have seen a more positive Alan, er.. Whats his name... Robin Thicke. He said something about his throat or voice or something of that nature. He looked tired.
Other than that..
I dont think you're ready for this jelly! (ha)

I am a huge fan of Beyonce the girl is bad and I mean that in a good way she is a phenominal (hope I spelled that right) woman. There are not many people who can sing live Beyonce has proven to everyone in Fresno that she can do it all and sound good doing it so to all you haters that say the concert was wack then you don't know real music because Beyonce ripped it the girl can sing and dance and vocally she got it.

Hey, Beyonce was in Vancouver last night...absolutely LOVED her show!!! I agree with some of you: she's an AWESOME vocalist. Maybe not as great of a dancer as Janet, but definitely a good booty-shaker!! :) Still, it was very entertaining. I've been to Mariah Carey, and this is almost as good (not so flashy, better quality sound). We didn't get no encores either....pathetic...everyone left as soon as the song was done. What's up with that??? Wonder if anyone else got an encore??
