Did They Just Say Fresno Mike Oz?!
So, check this out. I sat down this evening to write a blog post about how Fresno got a mention on the Best Week Ever blog today, when I came across something extra cool.
In its "news" roundup, BWE has a link to the story about Fresno High School student Cinthia Covarrubias, who is running for prom king. Cool, right?
The point of my post was about how Fresno finally made it onto BWE without the aid of Kevin Federline. To prove my point, I was going to link to an older BWE story about our shining star K-Fed. I typed "Fresno" into BWE's search space and saw this link: "Is Fresno having the Best Week Ever?"
Having never read this particular post before, I clicked on it and found the following statement: "Well, BWE reader Mike Oz certainly seems to think so. His impassioned plea for you to pay attention to his agricultural town points out the myriad reasons he's so convinced Fresno is having its Best Week Ever."
Backstory: About a year ago, Mike Oz felt that there were enough fun things happening in Fresno that they deserved a mention on the television version of "Best Week Ever," and he sent the blog this letter. At the time, in our fair city, a woman was seeking monetary damages for being publicly spanked by her employer, Fresno State was being spanked by the NCAA, a mother was in trouble for letting her kid spank beat up on another student, and, of course, K-Fed was enjoying a short-lived rap career and a much longer pregnancy with then-wife Britney Spears. Until this very day, however, we had no idea that Mike - and by association, the Beehive - had gotten any attention on the blog.
So forgive me for going on and on about something that might be less significant than Val Kilmer's poop or Sanjaya's hair, but - Best Week Ever being one of our favorite blogs - we are officially stoked. It's all downhill from here, baby. Beehive high-five!
