More bad hip-hop/R & B: Q97 announces barfworthy big show
Driving home, I flipped my radio to Q97 to hear the tailend of a bunch of the DJs ranting and raving about their "major concert announcement."
Yay, we're getting another great (read: laaaaaame) concert of johnny-come-lately, hot urban artists. Mims, Lloyd, T-Pain, Omarion and a few other no-names are coming to the Warnors Theatre on May 2. Geez, the only thing missing from making this truly crap-tacular is a Cassie appearance. For the people who actually care: Tickets go on sale this Friday and start at $25.
Between this, the B95 Music Madness tournament and another hyphy concert, I feel a hip-hop rant coming on -- probably to a column near you.
On another note: Have you heard the Q97 liner that says, a "classic cut that we gave you first." Does that make any sense to anyone? Are these radio stations so lame they're claiming bragging rights over old songs? Sure, Q97, I believe you -- you played 2pac's "Ambitionz az a Ridah" before anybody. I don't like have the CD or anything.

I love how Q97 force feeds feeble minds crappy music and then bring those "artists" that have their music played on constant rotation at intervals of 5 minutes to Fresno and call it a "Big Concert".
PEOPLE, WAKE UP! Mims? Freakin Mims? Who the hell is that? What the hell is a Mim? Wait, did this guy just name his rap moniker his last name? That shows alot of respect to his family. I mean, if you guys even bothered to listen to his music (I was extremely bored, I was actually picking my nose and farting lullabies when I decided to DOWNLOAD his tracks, I should've stayed with the 1st), his songs are all about his big ego and sexual innuendo. Great image for that family! And I mean, if you're going to do something like that, make sure "it's hot" because quite frankly, it sucks. This is why I'm hot". Yeah buddy, this why youre not hot. This is why you only have 1 song being played on the radio. This is why you're a 1 hit wonder. This is why you should have kept your 9 to 5 Mcdonald's cashier job because this is why you're going to flop. Frankly Mr Mims, this is why you suck!
And who the hell is T Pain or Loyd? Who the hell are these people?! This is why I don't listen to the radio.
Come on people, 25 bucks? I really hope you people are not that brainwashed and actually fork over your hard earned money to listen and watch these crappy "musicians". Go to a place that plays live music locally and support them there. They make better music than what you hear on the radio. Tokyo Garden, Sequoia Brewing, Babylon, just to name a few.

I think Fresno has the SaveMart Center for a reason, for big acts. I believe having these little concerts in small venues doesn't do much for the area. Most of these artist are passing through the area and decide to stop to make a little more money. Really how many people are going to go see this concert. Although I like maybe one of the artist, the others are just not worth paying whatever amount they are asking. Honestly this concert isn't even worth talking about.
