Jake Gyllenhaal takes hotness to a whole new level
Jake Gyllenhaal certainly has come a long way since starring as Billy Crystal's armpit-farting son in City Slickers.
Not only has he grown into quite the handsome, athletic young man, he's received accolades for his work in one of the more socially relevant and important films of our time.
And now young Jake has turned into a real-life action hero, helping to save historic artifacts as the inn he and his family were staying at burned to the ground last night in Northern California. According to People.com, the lodge, which was a refuge to A-listers like Prince Charles and the Gyllenhaals, burned to the ground, but no one was injured in the blaze.
I think the more important thing, though, is that we now have the mental ammo for the perfect Jake-Gyllenhaal-as-fireman fantasy. Woo-ha!

Comments:
In your fantasy, is he a rough-hewn but tender, man-loving firefighter? I don't think it's homophobic to assume that if he's gay for pay in the movies, maybe he enjoys putting out some other guys' fires in Frisco.

Yeah, it'll be called "Backdraft Mountain".

Get the facts correct Fresno Bee. Manka's is in Inverness, Ca, 45 miles from San Francisco. Manka's is not in San Francisco, not even that close.
Pussyfur, I live down the street from Manka's. Jake was not helping put the fire out. He was helping pull things out of the lodge, joining in with neighbors who were also helping. Also, what is "Frisco"? Usually people that arent from California use that term. Generally, people who use the word "Frisco" are considered a "rube" by locals. You probably need to look that word up in the dictionary. It's "San Francisco". Got it? But it doesnt matter, since Manka's is not in San Francisco.

Thank you for the correction, Gary. I feel that when it comes to discussing the hotness that is Jake Gyllenhaal, it is DOUBLY important to get all of one's facts in order. After all, this is a very important and serious matter, and it should be treated as such.

So when Gary pulls the stick out of his ass can I use it as kindling?It's cold in Frisco,and I might want to start a fire.Say something.I was born there.

Not even worth commenting on James

@Gary:
I've stayed at Manka's and met its namesake 13 years ago. Damn shame.
People can call me a rube all day long while I'm swilling lychee martinis at Bambuddha. I love San Fran and can admit Fresno is nothing like it. But I grew up in the Bay Area, read Herb Caen, listened to Alex Bennet, called KGO, and don't consider it The City. There are several other places that truly contend for the honor. Being out loud and proud of where you live (near) doesn't mean others can't appropriate it for themselves. I call it Frisco not out of disrespect but to inflame wide-eyed hicks like you.

You are right James. I am a wide eyed hick. And I apologise. I am not a native bay area resident. But I did refer to San Francisco as Frisco before moving here and do remember all I the flack I got for that. Lots of flack. But I do love Inverness. And love to hear stories from others who have a better knowledge of the area, like you. Manka's daughter in law Judy still lives next door to the lodge. She is the one who dialed 911. Hopefully, Margaret, the current owner will rebuild. The lodge is a special place. Maybe, oneday, if it is rebuilt, you will come back.

Actually, Gary, that comment came from Pussyfur, who is a giant cat fan, as I understand it.
I'm glad to see everyone getting along, though. That's the spirit of the Beehive, my friends: bringing people, especially fans of quaint Northern California lodges, together.
