Happy St. Patrick's Day

In honor of the holiday, I'd like to blog a toast to one of my favorite spots in Fresno, a little pub at the corner of Marks and Herndon that I'm sure many of you know, The Body in the Bog. Note that the Google listing for the page does not mention the pub's hours. That's because there are no posted hours at The Body in the Bog. Just a sign with a message to the effect of, "When I'm here, we're open. When I'm not, we're not." That is so cool.

TBitB also has a vast range of quality alcoholic beverages to choose from, including my personal favorite Maudite and obscure-but-excellent labels like Old Peculier. We know from assorted Web scribblings that the pub is the watering hole of choice for Peter Sean Bradley, Esq., who writes the blog Lex Communis. The unapologetically leisurely service is all part of the bar's laid-back, old-country atmosphere, which includes regular live music performances.

If LJ user Finnien's description of last year is any indication, we will not be the only ones in town planning to while away St. Patty's Night at TBitB. So if you've got another Irish-pub-like or generally cool liquor-licensed venue to patronize this holiday, spill it in the comments.
