Dining out for Thanksgiving?

Every year, I get requests for places to eat dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Most folks know about chains such as Mimi’s Cafe and Marie Callender’s, but it’s harder to identify other restaurants that will stay open.

Today’s column lists nine local spots with Turkey Day meals. Some of them have full menus available below:

If you know of other restaurants open for the holiday, please add them to the comments.

Last year we broke with tradition and went out on Thanksgiving. We had a truly excellent traditional turkey meal with all the holiday trimmings at Ruth’s Chris.

Their full menu is also available, but I highly recommend going for the prix fixe holiday meal. they even sent pre-packaged leftovers (not plate leftovers but a complete second meal) home with us!

Highly Recommended.

One year went to the Manhattan for their price fix. Brilliant options from traditional to prime rib to sea food option. A great option for those with small celebrations. Very satisfying and extremely well done.

We have reservations at Bentley’s: $9.99 Adults, $7.99 Kids – the ad says Tradition Roasted Turkey or Black Forest Ham with mashed potatoes & gravy, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce & rolls. The full menu is also available.

They are offering dine-in & take-out. Reservations are suggested. We eat there regularly, the food is always good, portions generous, and attentive servers.
