Win tickets to the Fresno Filmworks showing of ‘Chinatown’
Fresno Filmworks continues its series of classic film screenings at the Tower Theatre this Sunday with Chinatown, and we’re giving away a pair of tickets.
From Filmworks:
“The 1974 crime drama was directed by Roman Polanski. The movie, set in the seedy underbelly of 1930s Los Angeles, set a high-water mark in film noir, and it holds the No.2 position in the American Film Institute’s list of all-time best mystery films. At the request of a beautiful bombshell, a private eye becomes entangled in a complex scandal of greed, depravity, and corruption surrounding Southern California’s water wars. The film is credited with raising the profile of the historical land disputes over water rights that led to Los Angeles drawing water from the Owens Valley, east of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Starring Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway, and John Huston. The film earned 11 Academy Award nominations, and it won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for writer Robert Towne. The movie was director Polanski’s last made in the United States before he fled for Europe.”

Would love to see this at the Tower.
Thanks!
The only time I ever go to the movies is when Chinatown is playing. I haven’t been to the movies in a while, I would love to go for free. And I have a date, so two tickets is perfect.

I love the classic film events put on by Fresno Filmworks. I contiune to support this program because I want to be part of the demand for this fun way of paying homage to the past. When I lived in Minneapolis I used to go to Oak Street Cinema at least once a week, and even saw the Godfather Trilogy in one butt-bruising day; it was definitely worth it. And now, Chinatown! Can’t wait!!!
Chinatown is one of the best movies of all time, I would love to take a friend to see Jacky on screen.
