Your weekend plans start here
This weekend is jam-packed with things to do, so if you’re thinking about staying home and watching [insert whatever sport is in season here], you will truly miss out.
Donald has given you his picks, and here are some more options for your weekend.
Huge, Andre-the-Giant-sized props to anyone who manages to do all of these things:
FRIDAY
• Drink wine, play bocce, hear music and eat lasagna with the Appellation California Winery from 7-9 p.m. Admission is free; dinner and wine is available for purchase.
• The Central Valley Burlesque Society and New York-based burlesque group Dangerous Curves Ahead will put on a show for the 21 and over crowd at Full Circle Brewing Co. starting at 8 p.m. Admission is $10.
SATURDAY
• Go Green and Clean — the volunteer effort to help keep Fresno’s parks looking fresh and nice — will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at three different parks, so you can take your pick: Woodward Park, Roeding Park or Regional Sports. Details here.
• Get inked at the 7th annual Fresno Tattoo Convention from 11-11 Saturday and noon-8 p.m. Sunday at the Fresno Convention Center Exhibit Hall. There also will be music, tattoo contests and a car show. Admission is $20 per day or $30 for a weekend pass.
• The gals from NOtown Roller Derby are back, kicking off their season with two bouts Saturday at the Fresno Fairgrounds. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door, kids 10 and under free. Details here.
• Creative Fresno’s Members Only party will take place at Storyland starting at 8:30 p.m. As the name suggests, this party is for members of Creative Fresno only, but you still have time to join — details here.
SUNDAY
• The folks at I Bike Fresno will once again hold their free “Revive Your Bike” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parking lot on Nees just east of Freeway 41. Bring your brokedown bike and experts will help you fix it up, plus a lot of other good stuff will go down, including a visit from Dusty Buns Bistro. Check out details here.
What’d I miss? Add your event to the comments below.
