Another half-a**ed ‘Project Runway’ recap

Seriously, was last night the most boring episode of “Project Runway” ever? Let’s recap, in a half-assed manner:

What sucked:

• No Michael Kors.
• No Nina Garcia.
• No drama, or at least, no storyline. Epperson misses his kids: awww. BFD.
• Predictable outcome (Come on — who didn’t see Qristyl getting the boot right from the “Last week on ‘Project Runway’” intro?).

• And the challenge: Design a dress. For a model. Wow. Rough.

What made the episode watchable:

• Guest judge Jennifer Rade. I don’t know who this chick is, but when she told Qristyl that her model wasn’t a designer, “thank god,” I wanted to reach through the television and give her a handshake. No wonder Nina Garcia and Michael Kors were absent — the volume of sheer bitchiness in the room would have caused the “PR” set to spontaneously combust.

Next week’s episode seems like it might be a return to the wacky “PR” challenges of yore: in the preview, Heidi says something about the answers being black and white, which I’m hoping means the designers have to create something out of newspaper (who said print is dead?).

Here’s hoping Nina and Michael can clear their schedules enough to make a quick appearance and save the show from fading away into a sea of “Reba” reruns and Tori Spelling movies of the week.

You know, I was a devoted watcher for the previous seasons, but since that huge gap of it being on tv and now moving to Lifetime (which the only time I’ve watched that channel is for occasional Frasier and Will and Grace reruns – now as you mentioned overtaken by Reba reruns WTF?), there must be something with the fashion gods that keep me forgetting to even tune in now that it is back on.
I haven’t seen a single entire episode (I did catch the last few minutes of one, but was bored)
and I just simply keep forgetting. Meh. Maybe I’ll catch it when they’re doing a marathon.

The only reason to keep watching PR is comedian Jennifer Eolin’s wonderful blog wrap-ups (Heather, even Pam/Jenna from the office is a huge fan):

Sorry for those who don’t have myspace. Jennifer uses it cuz of the ease of photo uploading.
