‘Mad Men’ season 2 marathon Monday
This afternoon I committed to watching “Rookie of the Year” on AMC.
Young Thomas Ian Nicholas is adorable, Gary Busey is not yet crazy, and, after 16 years, the phrase “funky butt-loving!” still reduces me to a fit of giggles — not an unpleasant way to spend the afternoon.
As an added bonus, it was while watching ROTY, that I saw a commercial for a “Mad Men” season 2 marathon starting 7 a.m. Monday.
Listen, people: This is your chance to catch up on the show that every single cool person you know (namely, me, and to a lesser extent, Mike Oz) watches. It was just nominated for sixteen Emmy Awards, but don’t let that deter you — it’s a really good show.
Go to the video store, rent season one, watch it (it’s just thirteen episodes), DVR the marathon on Monday, watch that (also just thirteen eps), then tune in August 16th for the premiere of season 3. You will not be sorry.
Totally unrelated: I also saw that AMC is showing “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” Saturday afternoon at 3:30. I say this so no one asks me what I’m doing this weekend. I’m doing this.

Have fun with the Hole in the Wall Gang aka Bandidos Yanquis Heather. Fun Redford/Newman flick, though to me, THE STING is the better catch.
“The Sting” is a great one, as well. Too bad AMC isn’t doing a Redford/Newman double feature.
