WTF moment of the day

Like many of you, we here at the Beehive love hot dogs. A lot.

Over in Russia, however, that love is taken to a whole new level. Introducing the hairy weiner hot dog — a hot dog stuck with dried spaghetti and then boiled to create, well, this:

Take a moment to empty your stomach, then enjoy a few more WTF photos of completely ruined hot dogs while you reminisce fondly about the Cold War.

I think some meatballs would complete the spaghetti and weinie “package”. What was that April Fools motto for the Beehive? It was like something something something & and all things dong.

Ah, Heather, while those photos are a bit ridiculous, I have to tell you that hot dogs and pasta aren’t all that bad.

Filipino spaghetti is known for its hot dogs — preferably bright-red, artificially colored ones. The sauce also is sweeter, because it contains a beloved Filipino condiment: banana ketchup.

Now, I know this sounds very odd to folks who aren’t Filipino. And the use of artificially colored foods is very unusual for me.

But this Pinay will take a dish of Filipino spaghetti any day. It brings back lots of memories.

Check it out here.

Mike Oz says:

It looks like the hot dog version of Cousin It.

Looks like something you’d find in the ground near Chernobyl. Maybe something good came out of that disaster after all. Or at least another “Tremors” sequel.

Heather says:

You know, that doesn’t look that bad. I still can’t really imagine what banana ketchup tastes like, though.

Hahahaha… I’m definitely going to be trying this at home! hahahahaha

Jenna says:

I couldn’t agree more.

Solitaire says:

I have to say, Hot dogs and Mac n Cheese go well together, so why wouldn’t hot dogs and spaghetti??? You’d just have to get over how it looks… maybe like green ketchup?? :)

Why did they put all that hair on those hot dogs?
