UPDATE: According to TMZ, Michael Jackson, 50, has died. He is survived by his three kids: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson II.

LOS ANGELES — Pop star Michael Jackson has been taken to UCLA Medical Center by ambulance suffering from cardiac arrest, fire officials confirm.
Los Angeles Fire Department Captain Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a 911 call at Jackson’s home around 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda says.
It’s unclear what he was being treated for or what his current condition may be.
I’m usually the first to make fun of Michael Jackson, but damn. Hope the guy is okay.

CNN says that they revived him before arriving to the hospital. guess we just have to wait and see.

The L.A. Times is now saying he’s dead. I believe them more than TMZ. I was holding onto hope.
His personal issues aside, the man made some great and timeless music that will live on even if he doesn’t.

L.A. Times gives it more legitimacy, true, but I tend to believe TMZ about stuff like this.
Since they’re dirtier than legit news sources, they have spies and sources everywhere, and they’re usually the first to know this stuff, and generally right.
This definitely comes as a shock especially after loosing Ed and Farrah… they always come in 3′s

I absolutely agree, Mike.
I tried to explain to my daughter, the enormity of his talent and impact on our generation. There is NOT ONE performer or band in the last 15 years who changed music the way he did or had one ounce of the originality he had nor the balls he had to take the risks he took.
Despite his most recent unfounded legal troubles, the man is an icon and to be respected!

In my defense, I posted that when MJ was still alive. It was my way of asking if he was okay and honoring him with his own lyrics. Now that he is gone…I am sad.

I was supposed to watch his concert. I and my friends actually had a ticket already. It’s just so sad that he was not able to reach his birthday this August. If I were to ask if I would ask for a refund of the ticket, I think I wouldn’t. I will keep it as a remembrance. We will surely miss you Michael Jackson!
okay, so he was a musical and performing genius.
-but there are a LOT of musical and performing genius’.
This guy took the public adoration (which he definitely earned)
-and used it so he could sexually abuse (at least) two kids -and ‘walk.’
-he just paid the situation off with the fan’s money.
-he was also twisted enough to dangle his infant child from over an apartment balcony,
horrified thousands –and he thought it was funny, (until the govt. and the law made him see that apologizing was a good idea.)
-And you know?
I work with a lot of women, and a lot who have been sexually abused.
I remember one morning, one, who grew up from the abuse, (and was a counsellor now, herself) found that the guy who molested her had died.
She was devestated.
She couldn’t even really explain why.
And she wasn’t crying because she was ‘relieved.’
No amount of money, and quite often?,
no amount of time, heals that damage in a violated kid, -especially when it’s done by a ‘hero.’
There’s a lot of brilliant artists in the world.
Okay, so as of this afternoon?
There’s one less.
