Five Things You Should Do This Weekend

While hoping no other local businesses close.

1. SAY FAREWELL TO THE EXPRESS
With news earlier this week that long-time LGBT nightclub The Express is closing, you can expect big crowds for its final three days tonight, Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, the popular Xotica drag show — usually on Thursdays — will be capping the final night of the club. [More]

2. ROLL WITH THE DONKEYMAN
The most amusing cast of characters you’ll see in a local music venue this weekend is at Audie’s Olympic tonight. ¬†There’s the wacky one-man-band Brian Kenney Fresno, the witty hip-hop of General Populus, the epicly-bearded Niilo Smeds and sideshow-licious Scurvy. 3. LAUGH FOR FREE

4. GET A TASTE OF ROYAL TEETH
Straight outta Louisiana, pop/rock sextet Royal Teeth arrives in Visalia tonight for a show at The Cellar Door with a growing buzz. I enjoy their song “Wild” and you might too. [More]

5. CHECK OUT CLUB EVA
The shortcomings of the nightclub at Granite Park have been well documented, but today I’m just going to say I hope this time, they get it right. It’s Club Eva now. It’s having its premiere night on Saturday. And, frankly, it’s about time this place gets legit. [More]
