ORIGINAL POST: The near-capacity crowd that packed Chukchansi Park in August 2011 for the Fresno Grizzlies game got to see actor Billy Crystal throw out the first pitch. The ballpark was used that night to film scenes for Crystal’s new movie, “Parental Guidance.” He plays Artie Decker who is supposed to be the voice of the Fresno Grizzlies.
Many of you who were at the game must be wondering how much of Fresno, the Grizzlies and the park are shown. The movie doesn’t open until Christmas Day but the Beehive would like to cut that wait for you. We’re hosting the first local showing of the movie at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19. The Fresno Grizzlies will joining us for this special screening, which is exclusive to Beehive readers and special guests.
There are 70 pairs of tickets available for the screening. Want a pair? All you have to do is comment below telling us your favorite Billy Crystal movie. Deadline to enter is noon on Friday, Dec. 14. Winners will be picked at random and notified via e-mail, so please leave a valid address. You will be notified by 5 p.m. Dec. 17 if you are a winner.

“When Harry Met Sally” is my favorite Billy Crystal movie, but “Parental Guidance” might become my new favorite just because I was at the stadium when they did some filming — and my husband and I got to say “Hi, welcome to Fresno” to Billy Crystal on the concourse.
