If you’re lucky enough to have sold-out Of Monsters and Men concert tickets, add that.
1. GET YOUR HANDS ON SOME LOCAL GOODS
Since the Fresno Handmade Bazaar was such a success earlier this year, organizers The Soulflower Group have crafted a seasonal sequel — Saturday’s Fresno Handmade Holiday Bazaar. You can buy gifts — for you or your fam — handmade by Fresno’s indie artisans. This ain’t your grandma’s craft fair, though. It’s in a club with a DJ and drinks. Keep in mind that it’s only open to the 21+. [More]
2. GET INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT
Here’s your Christmas-event mission for the weekend, should you be looking to get all jolly. Go to the annual Fresno Christmas Parade — Year No. 83, ya’ll, that’s sayin’ something — on the Fulton Mall. Afterward, wander over to Warnors Theatre where the Big Band Christmas concert will have you swinging in the aisles.
3. BE A HOLIDAY REBEL
If you’re more of a non-traditional holiday partier, this weekend has you covered too. Tonight is the Festivus Festival at Fulton 55. It features local bands and comedian in addition to all the Seinfeldian lore of Festivus. Saturday night is Santacon, a Christmas-themed, costumed bar crawl. If you’ve had that slutty elf costume taking up space in your closet, your day has come!
4. ROLL WITH CAROLLA
Adam Carolla — famed funnyman from “The Man Show,” “Love Line” and the podcast world – is back in Fresno for what’s become an annual December appearance. He’s at Tower Theatre on Saturday for a show that’s a mixture of comedy and story-telling with a bit of his signature grump. [More]
5. CHECK INTO SAINT MOTEL
Fulton 55 hosts rising L.A. rockers Saint Motel on Saturday night. I dig this track of theirs called “Benny Goodman.” You might too. There’s nothing Christmas related here — ya know, if you’re looking to escape all that. [More]
