Only a few months removed from their Big Fresno Fair concert, Barenaked Ladies will return to Fresno next Saturday (Jan. 23) to play an acoustic show at Elbow Room. Yep, you read that right, Elbow Room.

It's the latest in Y101's Unplugged concert series, which brought "American Idol" finalist Jason Castro to town earlier this week. Props to Y101 on this concert series, as it's brought us some pretty decent gigs in the past year -- Eric Hutchinson, Better Than Ezra and Sugar Ray among them.

The key part, if you're trying to see Barenaked Ladies, is that you have to win tickets on the air. So BNL fans better keep their radios tuned to Y101.

Wait? Are you sure it's not Thursday? It sure feels like a Thursday, with all the stuff happening around tonight, especially at Tokyo Garden.

Tonight, Berkeley folk duo Odawas makes a tour stop, joining up with local faves Wheels of Fortune and a solo jaunt from Malcolm Sosa of Rademacher. No, there's no ArtHop to go to before this. You could hit up Pub Quiz beforehand though.

According to the latest restaurant rumor, The Chef's Table is about to shut down.

It's not true, says Mike Shirinian, who owns The Chef's Table and the Elbow Room in Fig Garden Village. Here's what is true: Executive chef Malachi Harland will leave The Chef's Table in 2010. Harland plans to spend some time cooking in Spain, Shirinian says.

That means fans of Harland's cooking should head to The Chef's Table soon for dinner or these events.

After Harland's departure, expect to see some changes at The Chef's Table. Shirinian is staying mum on the details until they're worked out. Stay tuned.
