Try as you might to avoid it, I'm sure you've heard at least part of that Miley Cyrus song where she's caterwauling about listening to Jay-Z. It's unavoidable.

I heard an unfortunate story last night from a friend who had some trouble with a local bar Halloween night.

She'd ordered a couple of drinks and paid with her card. The tab was left open, but not by choice -- the bartender grabbed the card and then hurried off to help other customers. My friend didn't have any intention of ordering more drinks, but she was unable to get the bartender's attention, so she went back to her table. When she went up later to settle the tab, the bartender told her that they'd lost my friend's card, and that they were sorry, and would void out the charges for the two drinks.

Panicked, my friend hurried home to call her bank. She'd left her contact info with the bar just in case the card turned up, and luckily it did. The bar called her that night to say the card had been found behind some paperwork.

Last Thursday, Kathy asked for your interesting/crazy Halloween costume ideas. Now we want to see how they turned out.

Whether you made your costume or went the prepackaged route (like me: see below), we want to see what everyone did for Halloween.

Tonight is a big night, and I'm sure you have other things on your mind, but it won't hurt to take a couple of moments to think ahead to the spring TV season, specifically to the final season of one of the most talked about TV shows ever: "Lost."

A new and intriguing poster for the final season was released this week, and (I don't know if this is spoilerish or not), it seems to include some old familiar faces from seasons past. Now, I can't make out all of the faces, but I swear I see Boone in there, and Shannon. Take a look:

Blog Dark UFO claims to have a contact at ABC who has revealed the names of every character shown. Click here if you're done staring at the poster trying to figure it out for yourself.

Also, ABC is starting to promo the upcoming season with teaser trailers like this one, and, although the trailer literally shows no new footage (and won't, at least not until the first new episode actually airs), I have to admit it's working. I'm getting excited.

This weekend while you've got your Halloween costume out, you might want to think about making a Swede.

Don't know what that is? Read all about it here (hint: it has nothing to do with Kingsburg). Basically, it's a fun excuse to get together with your friends and pay homage to your favorite movie or television show -- like you used to do when you were a kid.

Anyone can do it. It takes little time and less money. Most importantly, you get to show off your Swede at SwedeFest 4, taking place at 5 p.m. Saturday, November 7 at Starline.

Check out some of the Swedes your fellow Fresnans have created, from movies and shows like The Princess Bride, Signs, Raiders of the Lost Ark, La Bamba and "The Office," here.

If you're still not convinced to make your own Swede, come out and watch the efforts of others. It promises to be a fun time (Starline has a bar), and it's a FREE EVENT. All ages, too.
