Every Friday calls for a post-work drink and now that the weather is nice, you can have it in the pretty setting of a winery. Local wineries have started their “wine down” Friday events. Here’s a sampling of what’s happening.
The winery invites people to bring a picnic or buy snacks there and enjoy some wine. Wine by the glass — including sangria — will be available, along with bottles to share with friends. Happy hour starts at 6 p.m., with live music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Kings River Winery is a brand new winery in Sanger that starts its Friday Night Wine events June 5 with local band The Experience. For $10, you get a flight of five wines to try and live music. Food will also be available for purchase. The summerlong series of wine tasting and live music events start at 6 p.m. Details here.
Engelmann Cellars in Fresno continues its summer wine tasting events from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays. The winery, at 3275 North Rolinda Ave. four miles west of Highway 99, encourages people to a bring a blanket or chairs and glasses to drink from.
Engelmann provides the wine and food is available to purchase. Most Friday events cost $5, including tonight’s Geoff Thurman Band playing acoustic, pop, r & b.
