To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the CBS reality show "Survivor," more than 200 former "Survivor" showed up for a party thrown tonight by CBS at the network's studios. The guests ranged from the first "Survivor" winner Richard Hatch to the reality show's latest villain Russell Hantz.
The event was a chance for old friends - and a few enemies - to get caught up, take some pictures and discuss the 10th anniversary version that will begin Feb. 11. This round features players from past shows grouped into "Heroes" and "Villains."
"Hero" Colby Donaldson says being called a hero or villain didn't mean a thing to him. He just went into the game to show he could be a competitive player since his appearance on "Survivor 8: All-Stars" went so badly.
Jerri Manthey, a villain, says she accepted a long time ago that people think of her as a villain but in reality she thinks all she did was play the game as competitively as possible. She agreed to be on "Survivor 20" to make up for her bad showing on the all-star version.
One person who didn't make the villains cut was Jon Dalton, also known as Jonny Fairplay, from "Survivor 7: Pearl Islands."
Host Jeff Probst says the reason Dalton isn't on the upcoming "Survivor" is "the show is called 'Heroes vs. Villains,' not 'Heroes vs. Quitters." The reference was to "Survivor: Micronesia" in which Fairplay asked to be the first person voted off so that he could return to be with his expectant girlfriend.
Maybe "Survivor 25" will be "Quitters vs. Medical Departures."
