I'm turning things upside down this week. After some gentle nudging, I decided it is a good idea to solely showcase some of the best local fliers. What you'll find below are my favorites among the current Post No Bills rotation.
Maybe this will help some of the perennial Worst Flier nominees step up their game. And it'll surely honor the designers out there doing excellent work.
1. BROTHER LUKE AT VENI'S (1/18)
Simple, eye-catching and easy to read, this flier tells its reader exactly what they need to know. Designed by Johnny Q of Love The Captive.
2. QUASI AT THE CELLAR DOOR (3/11)
I love that in this Internet age, this still feels like the handmade fliers of old. I'm not sure that the artwork is 100% created for this flier, but I think it is. Designed by Aurora Armijo.
3. THE STONE FOXES AT AUDIE'S (2/12)
This one is not as clear and easy to read as some, but it's also a throwback to a certain type of show poster from the psychedelic rock age that I think most people are used to seeing. All the Stone Foxes posters I've seen have been in this style. Designed by Spence Koehler of The Stone Foxes.
4. BUFFALO GUNS & FRIENDS AT AUDIE'S (3/25)
I love symmetry, so I love this one. I see so many fliers, that there's just something to be said about the ones that memorable -- and this one is. Designed by Buffalo Guns (not sure which member, sorry)
now those are some flyers!! i love naked latinas more than the next guy, but even i was getting sick of seeing them on flyers.
The Stone Foxes poster is great.
Aw, Mike! Thanks for the mention! Fliers are one of my very favorite things to do, and I do all of the artwork by hand and with a ton of love. Yep, that's original work for the flier. All that said, go see the show! Quasi is amazing.
#2 is by far the worst, I hate it so much
#3 rocks. Reminds me of the old Fillmore posters. Wish it was a bit easier to read, but it's still nice.

Nice! I'm really into the Quasi and Stone Foxes fliers. Also, Love The Captive always put out a solid flier for their events.
