Did They Just Say Fresno? Jay Leno hops on the USA Today bandwagon

Leno last night poked fun at Fresno's $1.2 million marketing campaign, "Be World-Class. Be Fresno." He says at least it's better than the city's last slogan: ""Fresno. At least we're not Barstow!" (Check at the 5:20 mark.)

You know, I'd love to defend the good name of Fresno, but at some point we've really got to stop asking for it.

Yeah, Mr. Slogan-Creator. Let's not lie to the people.

On a side note: Jay said "raggedy-ass lookin' tree." (6:43)

~Rell.

There's an old saying in show business: "I don't care what the newspapers say about me as long as they spell my name right."

Here is one for Leno,

Jay Leno: At least it's not nails scratching on a chalkboard.

Leave Fresno alone Jay.

And by the way, the new prime time show is absolutely horrible.

'...be world class, be fresno...'
for 1.2 million?
-for real?

look, next time, take the money, put it in a small pile, pour lighter fluid on it, and strike a match...
(I can't believe people are actualy paid to come up with stuff that lame... It doesn't even make sense...)

Actually the $1.2 million is the entire budget of the Fresno CVB, that was a misprint in the paper.

1.2 million? Wow! That could have gone to supporting our cultural arts community. Helped out our museum that is about to be taken away after some really dumb financial moves. Funded the Woodward Shalespeare Festival for the next 10 years. Built some serious homeless shelters. 1.2 million for some words? Who is the genius behind this one?!

Fresno: At least it's better than The Jay Leno Show
