To-Do Tonight: These Wheels are spinnin'

releaseflyer.gif

Once upon a time Wheels of Fortune was Niilo Smeds' one-man band. Now it's practically a local indie rock supergroup. Andrew Bunnell (who you might remember from Pinkeye), James Brittain-Gore (of No Cello) and Dylan Tidyman-Jones (of Hi Castle) are now Wheels members -- and tonight they're releasing an album and playing at Tokyo Garden for the after-ArtHoppers.

We'll let Niilo tell you more. He's also offering up a free (and very good) mp3 for your downloading pleasure.

Thursday is the Wheels of Fortune CD release show at Tokyo, post-arthop. We're playing with Yesterday's Chonies, Michael K and Rademacher. Typical post-arthop show - 9pm, $5, 21 & over. We recorded the album this summer with our friend and ex-Fresnan Rob Jackson. A song from the album, "Give It All Back," is downloadable at http://is.gd/3BJih (direct link) or streaming at http://www.myspace.com/wheelsoffortune

We're also playing the Fuse Fest on Saturday, at the Spiral Garage. Which should be extra awesome.

ELSEWHERE
Babylon is starting off October with a scary-looking show, Audie's has a tour stop from the quite interesting Reverend Deadeye's No Man Gospel Band and apparently there's another festival on the Fulton Mall today that I know nothing about.

Mike,

You forgot to mention @ 7:30pm TONIGHT at Edwards Theater, you can catch a free screening of 'Capitalism.' No ticket required, first come first serve.

It's meant for 'jobless' people however it's on the honor system so, your ethic-mileage may vary..

I didn't "forget," as much as we agreed that someone else is going to write about that later.... but thanks for the info.

Wheels of Fortune is not only packed with talent, but they deliver some very very good music--a band to make the local scene proud.---------greatly looking forward to seeing them on top of the parking garage Saturday evening.
(I may or may not poop out before post- arthop---it's been a crazy week.--even though thems are 3 of the coolest bands in town.)

I've been digging that new song by Wheels of Fortune since I heard on KFSR a couple weeks back.

Hope to catch them at Re:FUSE on Sat.

Is the Michael K who is appearing at Tokyo tonight the same one who writes for Dlisted? If yes, I'm totally going.
