"Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space," 8 p.m. KSEE (Channel 24.1): This new TV special is based on the very fun feature film "Monsters vs. Aliens" and includes the voices of Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Laurie, Seth Rogen, Kiefer Sutherland and Will Arnet. We join Susan Murphy, a.k.a. Ginormica (Reese Witherspoon) and the Monsters as they are now working as a special ops team for the government. They go into action when an alien presence is detected in Susan's hometown of Modesto. Everything seems normal until Halloween when the innocent-looking carved pumpkins turn out to be mutant aliens. This franchise is worth a look by young and old because of the sharp animation and smart writing.
