AC/DC finally returned to Fresno after 30 years to play tonight at the Save Mart Center. Did the band rock?
How was the set list? The crowd? How loud was the show? If you saw AC/DC at that infamous show in 1978, how did this Fresno stop compare? What was the best song?
Chime in on any of that plus whatever else is on your mind.

AC/DC are Iconic rock legends! This was my first time watching them live, and they did not dissapoint. It had everything a rock fan could want, new hits, classic hits, very loud music, explosions, fire, a rabid crowd that was just thirsty for some great music! I cannot believe how long this band has been around, lead singer Brian Johnson is 61 years old, and was running around the stage like he was 20! Angus Young is one the best guitar people in the world! He went nuts on stage, played to perfection, and the crowd loved it! The Save Mart Center was sold out and not a person was sitting during the entire concert. It's hard to pick best song of the night, since all of their songs are number #1 hits. But "Hells Bells" was a great number with Brian Johnson swinging on a rope and ringing a large AC/DC full size bell that lowered from the ceiling. They closed the show with "For those about to rock we salute you" which was also great. I really hope this band does not retire and sticks around for a few more years, if The Stones can do it, so can they! But they loved Fresno and Fresno showed the love right back. Great Show! The only complaint I have is they only played for about 2 hrs, I could have rocked with them as long as they wanted to play, but 2 hrs was great and they played to a super hot crowd! Great choice with the opening act as well, a band called "The Answer" from Ireland. Very good sound, a cross between Led Zeppelin and Guns N Roses, I think we are going to hear more from them in the future. But if AC/DC does another tour through Fresno, I'm there!
Didn't any of you notice? Angus Young is NOT ACTUALLY PLAYING LEAD GUITAR! I just left the concert at the Honda Center. They kept having to cut away from the close ups when he would get out of sync with the actual guy playing lead guitar. He wasn't even moving both hands! What a sham. Just come clean--you are allowed old man.
AC/DC flat out rocked the house! I had never seen them before...and it was everything I could have hoped for. The playlist included a lot of the old music as well as a few tunes from Black Ice. There were multiple generations there and all seemed to be enjoying themselves. The pyrotechnics were great as they didn't overshadow the band. I agree with Jon...hard to believe that these guys are as old as they are. I think this crowd made up for the error of the crowd 30 years ago!
Fantastic show! Angus Young is quite the showman. It is amazing the energy these guys display. They played the hits. They played new stuff. I left with my ears ringing, but a huge smile on my face. I wonder why they close with "For Those About To Rock", instead of opening with it? Whatever, they were worth every dollar!
AC/DC are one of the rock gods! From the very opening song, it was clear they were here to do business. They came here to rock! Mission Accomplished!! Awesome!
I also left with my ears ringing! But the show was worth every penny! AC/DC rocked and for their age, they can rock as much as any band in their 20s!
During the show they were selling these red little devil light up horns that said AC/DC on them and when it was dark the whole arena was blinking with them. Of course I shelled out $15 bucks for a pair for my old lady.
As we walked from the dog house grill to the Save Mart center there was some dude outside the arena with a megaphone heckling concert goers about being everyone being sinners for coming to see this evil band AC/DC. That guy was a douche! If wanting to see AC/DC is wrong, then I don't want to be right!
I only have one thing that I was dissapointed in. They didn't play the song "Money Talks". I wish they would have played that or maybe I was drinking to much and didn't notice, but I'm sure they didn't play it.
Their pyrotechnics and stage were awesome. I love the AC/DC train they had as their stage background. And the gigantic blow up doll up of Rosie with tig ol bitties sitting on top of the train when they played "Whole lotta rosie" was cool.
I also loved it when Angus young walked on the catwalk and then was elevated in the air by the platform to do some awesome guitar work!
When they played "Hell's Bells" this huge bell dropped from the rafters. At first I thought it was a Taco Bell bell but then I looked closely and it said AC/DC on it. Then Brian the lead singer jumped on the cord and started ringing in it! That was cool.
Save Mart Center Parking = $8
Bottled Miller beer at Save Mart Center = $7
Pair of AC/DC red little devil horns = $15
Seeing AC/DC perform "Shook Me all Night long" = Priceless!!!
It was the ONE that got away! Until tonight, that is. Everything everbody above said is true - AC/DC brought the love and Fresno gave it back. The BEST rock show that I've ever seen in Fresno, and I've been rockin for thirty years (sorry, Sammy; you're up there too). If you had never seen AC/DC before (like me), you got fulfilled. It was all that and more. Long live (and rock) us older guys!!! And thumbs up, Fresno - keep supporting classic rock like you did tonight and we'll change the name of this town to "Fres-yes"!! Next stop, Frampton in Madera, then Skynyrd in Lemoore, Kiss at Save Mart....It's a hard life, but "kid's gotta rock"!!!! :)
AC/DC was FANTASTIC! Not only was the music great but the band was so professional and friendly! I don't know how many times they thanked the crowd. I don't remember hearing one cuss word either (unlike Aerosmith). Along with my husband, my 62 years young mom and 11 year old daughter went to the concert. We saw a lot of families like us there which says a lot about AC/DC and their music. They played a solid 2 hour set but everyone wanted so much more! I hope to see them again no matter what the price. We did see two religious picketers but I really felt sorry for them. They were there based on some urban rock-in-roll legend! I think there are more important areas Jesus would want them to focus their energy.
It was truly a fantastic show. I went as the wife of a self-declared "metal head" and had a fantastic time. It was a great show and I had a great time! They did not disappoint!
You can read a full review here, but to keep it short and sweet.
AC/DC is a must see concert for anyone who loves rock music. They are no joke.
