Beehive Obsessions: Volume 9er

You know how it is when you find something you love and instantly want everyone you know to love it, too? Here is a list of things the Beehive is into at this very moment. We invite you to share your obsession in the comments.

Heather: "Clash of the Gods" on the History Channel is my newest obsession. Ancient myths are brought to life on this hour-long show which features plenty of blood, drama, insane costumes and makeup, and, oh yeah, a little bit of history. Newsflash to anyone named Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton or "Hills" star [name]: your tired and ridiculous antics pale in comparison to the sexual exploits, murder, incest and child-swallowing of the Olympians. I want to see Zeus on the cover of US Weekly next week.

Donald: I am obsessed with how the red shirts worn by the employees at Target don't match. There are dozens of hues represented, from maroon to near-pink, which for some reason makes me think of rag-tag Confederate troops in mismatched uniforms trudging through a war with meager resources. It physically pains me to see two employees standing next to each other with wildly clashing shades. I want my employee Target shirts to all be the same, exact fire-engine red. Please. For my own sanity.

Joan: My obsession -- the Food Network show "Chopped" -- isn't something that I love. It's the unusual food and gross-out factor that keep bringing me back. The show forces chefs to cook with odd combinations, such as this dessert of blackberries, kiwi, wonton wrappers and gummy bears. Then there are the sanitation issues. Some chefs double-dip their spoons, cut their hands and bleed into the food, or almost sweat into their dishes. One chef double-dipped twice and bled into the food -- and he kept on bleeding until one of the producers told him to start over. Nasty!

Mike Oz: Right now I'm all about "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II," the new album by Raekwon. In my high-school years, I was a Wu-Tang obsessee and the original "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx," was one of my favorite Wu CDs.

Fourteen years later, the original is one of my favorite albums of all time and the sequel has managed to bring back the raw rhymes and dusty beats of its predecessor. While the new Jay-Z album is undoubtedly going to get more attention and sell better, OB4CL2 is by far the better hip-hop album.

Your turn. What's got you obsessed right now?

OB4CL2 is the #1 album on iTunes still! Woo-hoo!

Obsessed with my hatred for "Glee" and all that are obsessed with that program.

I'm with ya, dude -- OVER-RATED!

Finally we agree on something Oz. Like this town needs more Musical Theater Geeks.

Hi, Heather. I am now obsessed with "Hoarders" on AMC. Digusting, yet fascinating. And it compelled me to clean out my fridge and pantry, and closet, and garage... Oh, and "Mad Men". (Yes, I'm late on this one.)

I experienced the same thing! It is so gross-especially the 21 year kid (with the dad who had 1,000 bottles of wine in the house). Since I watched that I have cleaned out my sock drawer, the pantry and the spare room!
Anybody into True Blood like me?? I LOVE that show!

Oh, and "Glee". Sorry, Jeff...

Shocking!

i'm not obsessed, just disappointed how i've let the rap game slip out of my life. last i heard about OB4CL2 was three years ago and how Dr. Dre was set to produce the album. now the album has been released and I didn't even know about it.

I'm obsessed with cleaning and organizing my kitchen - been at it for 3 days now.

That's a good obsession.

I do that periodically to remind myself of the pantry and freezer staples that have yet to be cooked.

This habit feeds into one of my other obsessions: trying not to waste food.

Other things I'm obsessed with:
- Criminal Minds: Now my favorite crime-drama and A & E is showing old ones I've never seen all the time.

- Saying "Pew, Pew, Pew" (those are laser noises) for no reason at all.

- Mayer Hawthorne -- in Fresno on Monday!

I used to work at Target and the shirts are all different because they let you wear whatever plain "red" shirt you already own, they don't make uniforms. I'm sure this is because of the high turnover, I worked there for only 5 weeks, quitting abruptly after working the day after Thanksgiving. Just wasn't cut out for it I guess.

Jennifer, here's what I don't get: Target is one of the biggest corporations in the country. And it sells red polo shirts for cheap. You figure it could afford to buy matching shirts just for the sake of consistency.

* Infinite Jest. I will finish this book. I will finish this book.

* Fresno Urban Sound Experience. I kinda have to be about now.

I heart Glee! If you can’t laugh at this show I think you need to have your funny bone checked. We have enough crime, court and hospital dramas. Television needs something fresh and new. Team Glee all the way!

...algebra.

...getting to class actually on time.

...finding Natural Life Cat Food (dry)
-freakin' WalMart Dropped it, and it's the only stuff my (older) can eats that doesn't have her hurlng all over the place
(it's wheat based, --almost everything else is corn based.)

...more algebra.

I don't think I'm obsessed with anything at the moment. Just keepin' my head above water.

and...coincidentaly, for the first time ever, I saw about 6 minutes of 'Glee' last night. I don't need a seventh. (The super-un-realistic lip synching was a production decision, right?]

I'm totally obsessed with graduating in May.
And moving into my new apartment this month.
Although I'm SUPER obsessed with NOT wanting to pack.
