CBS ended its day of the Television Critics Association meetings with a party at the Huntington Library Monday night. And it wasn't just CBS stars who showed up to chat. Stars from the CW Network and Showtime channels were on hand since they are owned by the same company.
In attendance was Jennifer Love Hewitt, Julianna Marguiles, Simon Baker, LL Cool J, Rob Morrow, Alex O'Loughlin, Patricia Arquette, Sophia Bush, Mary Hart and John Lithgow, to name a few.
I asked O'Loughlin, the star of the new CBS series "Three Rivers," if he has talked to any of the fans who were upset when his former CBS series "Moonlight" was canceled after only one year. He had. The fans told him they were very upset. Then O'Loughlin smiled and said, "How do you think I felt?"
Actors often point to the likes of Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Clark Gable or Jimmy Stewart when they speak of the performers who have been their greatest influence. LL Cool J, the star of the new CBS series "NCIS: Los Angeles" proved he is definitely an original. His acting influence was Bruce Lee because Lee could be tough or kind. And, Lee was not afraid to go from a career he had mastered to try acting. LL Cool J could have been talking about himself.
Elle Macpherson, who plays a no-nonsense modeling agency boss in the new CW series "The Beautiful Life," explained the character is not based on anyone she had worked for over her years of modeling. The character is just based on the 47-year-olds own modeling experiences.
"The Big Bang Theory's" Jim Parsons seemed to still be riding the high of winning the individual acting award at the TCA Awards. He made a point of tracking down writers he had talked to Saturday night to say hello. The last actor I saw do that was Tom Hanks.

As a fan of Moonlight I have to say yes, we were all very upset about its cancellation. Alex has also stated before that he was as well. We would still like to see a Moonlight Movie. And we are looking forward to seeing Alex in Three Rivers... Great article!
Thanks for the article. I, too, am an Alex O'Loughlin Moonlight fan. Disappointed that CBS cancelled Moonlight, a show that won the People's Choice Award. I look forward to all of Alex's future projects such as CBS Three Rivers, Whiteout movie 9/2009 and The Back-Up Plan movie with Jennifer Lopez/Alex January 22, 2010 in theatres. It would be so divine if there were a Moonlight movie, but until then, Three Rivers!
Thanks for the article, I am a Moonlight fan and was very disappointed when was canceled, but now I am looking forward to see Alex O'Loughlin in Whiteout, September 11, Three Rivers, October 4 and The Back-up Plan January 22, you go Alex!
