A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a story for The Bee's front page about the precarious financial situation at the Fresno Art Museum. In that story we featured a large photograph of Jo Anne Yada, who staged a one-person performance-art-style vigil in front of the museum. Today Yada sent me this note along with permission to pass it on to Beehive readers:
Just a quick update: 4 people were laid off at the Fresno Art Museum, including myself ... We were let go yesterday with no notice or time to wrap up what we were working on. That leaves only 9 full-time and part-time employees.
I'm very sorry, Jo Anne.

This is sad and terrible for our community. I'm sorry.
