You gotta give it to Audie Pardon, he's really turned around the once-Club Fred. Under its previous owner, the beloved Tower District music club was losing its luster.

Audie bought the place a couple years back, reinforced the dedication to live music and eventually changed the name to Audie's Olympic, a nod to the club's past as The Olympic Tavern.

Anyhow, the last few months have been stellar over there, with lots of good touring shows. August is particularly packed.

Coming up are dates with touring acts Deke Dickerson, The Valley Arena, Nico Vega and Iron Maidens, plus a homecoming for Greenladies.

Here's a list, courtesy of Audie himself, of what's coming up:

My biggest pet peeve: People running/walking in the BIKE lane and not on the sideWALK.

A few times a week, I ride my bike around town and lately, every time I go out, I run, make that swerve around, some person, or groups of people, who apparently think their desire for a wider, smoother space to run/walk trumps my safety. Because, it makes so much sense for bikers to have to merge into traffic with much bigger and faster vehicles, just so these folks can plod along oblivious to everything around them. And, it's not safe for them, either.

I don't necessarily want to pit bikers against joggers or walkers. I'm glad to see people out exercising. And, some people are nice, and get out of the way. I know people can share, like on the Clovis Trails, where the path is meant for all types of recreation.

But, day after day, when I have to deal with careless people -- like the two ladies Tuesday morning walking on Bullard Avenue taking up the bike path AND part of the actual car lane, or the three women walking side-by-side in the Temperance Avenue bike lane with their dogs last week, or the guy a few weeks ago on Shepherd Avenue who was jogging against traffic, straight at me and refused to move over even a little bit -- it makes me lose my patience.

So, joggers/walkers, listen up. The California DMV rules say, "Pedestrians are not allowed in bike lanes when sidewalks are available." So, please, go find a track, a dirt path along a canal, the Clovis or Fresno recreation paths or a sidewalk to use.

It all makes me yearn for Quebec City, Canada, where they make it VERY clear who should be using the bike path:

So, what's bugging you lately?

dark_blue_gallery01_512x341.jpg "Dark Blue" 10 p.m. TNT: One of cable's latest examples of top-notch drama is this series starring Dylan McDermott as Carter Shaw, a detective who has lived so long in the shadows he's almost forgotten how to live his own life. In tonight's episode of "Dark Blue," Carter's team faces a deadly deadline to save a kidnapped woman. It's up to Ty (Omari Hardwick) as a gangbanger, Dean (Logan Marshall-Green) as a security guard and Jaimie (Nicki Aycox) as a potential victim to track down the woman. This is a first-rate drama packed with loads of action.

Holy Han Solo! A Visalia house that's on the market for $364,900 comes with more than a swimming pool and a place to park your RV. It also has a starfighter capable of destroying enemies from the Empire. In your dreams, that is.

One of the bedrooms of the Southeast Visalia home is awesomely "Star Wars"-inspired, with a bed shaped like a Rebel Alliance Y-Wing fighter jet ...That hangs from the ceiling!!

You can see more pictures here, then start pretending your last name is Skywalker and you're on a mission to blow up the Death Star before you fall asleep in your Jedi jammies.

[Thanks to Joe Miller for the head's up]
