Yes please!!!!!

Personally, my favorite character is actually a tie between two and neither one is human. I really love both Faux and Hedwig. Faux because he was so magical and Hedwig because she was Harry's best friend. She was there for him through everything. I know a lot of people may not agree with me, but as an animal lover these two characters meant a lot to me.

I am a big animal lover too but it is so sad when Fawkes leaves because Dumbledore dies. And i think it is so cool how Hedwig has that special bond with Harry she knows everything she says and can feel his emotions

I just have to jump in and ask (since you mentioned Hedwig *sniffle*) if you've seen the new Hedwig look-a-like at build-a-bear! They have the model dressed up in a cape with black glasses....he'd be so cute in my HP collection!

| Reply

How cute! I didn't know they had Hedwig at build a bear!

How cute! I didn't know they had Hedwig at build a bear!

Hermione is the best character because she's so smart and confident about herself.

MT

I to like her and you are correct that she has been there for him.

I like her because of that and I wish I was like her!!!!!

| Reply

I'm anxious to see Ron and Hermione's relationship on screen in this movie!!

MT
| Reply

I like Ron to. He has been a good friend to Harry.

I, too, like Hermione because she is a school girl, and so am I.

I'm with the ladies on this one! She is SMART, BEAUTIFUL and CONFIDENT...a great role model for girls...amongst a more "Male" backdrop. I LOVE her...my daughter dressed up like her for Halloween!

MT
| Reply

Your daughter dressed as Hermione? That is SO cute!!! Hermione is definitely a wonderful female role model!!

| Reply

I agree!! Hermione is such a role model in real life, as well.

| Reply

I really enjoy watching Hermione. She is such a strong willed girl and every girl should be confident like that.
Ron is the fun, dorky kid to watch.

| Reply

My favorite characters have always been Harry and Hermione. Hermione is a strong, confident, intelligent young girl and Harry is always able to perservere through crisis.

| Reply

I definitely agree! I am so glad as a mother of a 12 year old that they have such a quality character for young girls to watch. Her character is a cool, strong and independent role model for girls.

| Reply

It is hard to pick favorites. I like the three headed dog, Lord Voldemort, Harry Potter of course and Hagred.

| Reply

my favorite person is harry potter because he always seems to win in the end when he is about to lose. And also the triple headed dogs

My favorite characters are Harry, Hermione, Ron and Hagred. I also like the character that now is the main character for Twilight.

| Reply

I absolutley love Luna! She is quirky, smart, and very eccentric. She is not afraid to speak her mind and I appreciate that the most of her. She does not think twice of what people think and she firmly stands her groud. And we can't forget her loyalty to Harry through all his hard times. My favorite quote from her is, "A Wrackspurt - they're invisible, they float in through your ears and make your brain go fuzzy...thought I felt one zooming around in here."

MT
| Reply

Eccentric is right!! LOVE her attitude and especially, her loyalty!

| Reply

Luna has a lot of admirable qualities. That was so heart wrenching in book seven where she had her room painted with all their faces...

| Reply

Luna's pretty awesome. Sometimes I think I should make up a whole batch of Luna-style earrings. It would go faster than my arduous knitting of Gryffindor scarves.

I think 1 of my favorite characters is Molly Weasley. She is so oblivious to everything around her, and I love how she treats Harry like a son! In fact, she pays more attention to him that her own kids,,, i love it!

| Reply

Fred and George are great characters they bring the comic relief to what can sometimes be a very dark movie. They are always up to no good like the aging potion in goblet of fire and selling chocolates that would make you grow puss bubbles so you could get out of your owls in order of the phoenix. The best part was when they set off the fireworks during the owls and made the giant W in the sky. Go Weasley's!!!!!!

| Reply

This is one movie that has really captured the imagination of so many people. From the very young to the very old. It brings smiles to me just to see my nieces and nephews comparing the movie to the books. It shows that reading has really taken over as a hobbie for them. She will have to come up with some more stories in the near future.

| Reply

I hope we get to see more of Maggie Smith in the new film. I still think this was perfect casting! When I read the first book I pictured her as Prof. Mac Donagal immediately!

When Richard Harris died, I really wish they had replaced him with Peter O'Toole. The new guy is really a little creepy!

My favorite has to be Mr ron weasley cause even though he may not be the best wizard he would not back down from anything for his friends

MT
| Reply

Agreed! TRemember the part in HP5, where Dean is giving Harry a hard time about the "rumors" of Voldemort being back? I absolutely love it when Ron steps in and asks, "Has anyone else got a problem with Harry?"

GO RON WEASLEY!!

| Reply

For sure! I love Ron. He always keeps it real.

| Reply

I CANT WAIT for the new Harry Potter movie to come out! My son and I are big fans of everything Harry Potter and my favorite character is Hermione. I think because she just knows everything :P My son thinks Ron Weasley is just goofy and loves him.

My son is a huge fan, and he's in high school. He's eager to watch the movie, in hopes that it does the book justice. Personally, I like Hermione. I like that she's mentally strong, and quite witty, I love her quick come backs. My son was sad when Dumbledore died. He was one of his favorite characters. I can remember when he read the book and came out of his room in tears, he was younger of course.

| Reply

Whenever Harry would go to the Burrow before school started, I would look forward to reading about Fred and George. They are wtty and funny. When Fred dies in the end, I must say I was really heart broken...

| Reply

Dudley was always good for a laugh. Although he was mean to Harry all the time...it was always nice to see Harry Potter get him back. haha

| Reply

My father and I both LOVE the movie series as much as the books, PLEASE send us to the premeire!

| Reply

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Fred and George!! Too funny!!

I'd like tickets!

My favorite character is Peeves because he is always causing trouble, and it is usually funny!

| Reply

The trailers I have seen look rather promising. I intend to be there, clad in my Hogwarts uniform. I think I'll leave the cat at home though.

I personally relate most with Neville Longbottom. Always the dork. Never really good at much but always tries so hard to succeed. I can't even imagine what it would be like to what your parents went through like his being tortured by the Cruciatus by Bellatrix Lestrange. I wish that Neville would have gotten the chance to take down her himself but he becomes the hero in the 7th book (no specifics, obviously, if you haven't read the book). My favorite line in the entire Harry Potter series has to do with Bellatrix (even though it's spoken by Mrs. Weasley). It's when Bellatrix is about to try and kill Ginny Weasley (probably also one of my favorite characters) and Mrs. Weasley says "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU B***H!!!" Go Mrs. Weasley!!!!

My favorites are Hermione and Harry. They're both smart, brave, and confident. What's not to like about them?

Neville is by far the best character in Harry Potter, hands down. Second is Ron, just because of his hair.

I almost said Neville. I had an entire comment written out explaining my reasons, then changed to Arthur. I'd say Neville is in my top list, though.

RON IS AWESOME!!!!! All my friends are red heads so i have to say that Ron is the best!!!! Gingersnaps to the rescue!!!!!! :)

| Reply

Neville rocks! he's my number 1 favorite character. I like Neville Longbottom because of his role in the fifth book & the last book. He was awsome. The Weasly twins are my number 2 for their constant jokes.

Yeah, Neville is pretty darn amazing :)
Oh and Ron, he's hilarious

Yeah, I like Ron too. He has that adorable red hair that looks like my Godson, whom I also adore.

Neville Longbottom has always been my favorite character. I loved the progression through the series of someone who was rather timid and others would walk all over him at the begining but at the end of the series really exemplified what being a Gryffindor was all about.

Precisely! That's why I aaaalmost picked him.

He's so awkward!

Neville is soooooo adorable :}

I agree!!! I have always loved Neville from the second i read about him in the first book I loved him and then when I saw him on screen i was really happy!!!!

I agree!!!!!! :) Neville kills people at the end!!!! Go Neville!!!!! I am happy he grew so much by the end of the series!!!!!

I would have to say that Arthur Weasley is one of my favorite characters. He seems to be an excellent father, both as a provider and protector of his family. He has strong ideals which he is willing to stand up for. He's also a bit of a nutter. Good combination.

Warning: I will beat anyone who laughs at me for crying at the end of this movie.

Beat. With a stick or other hard object. I have good aim, even through my tears.

That being said, my favorite character is the two-headed monster known as Fred and George Weasley.

I can't wait to see them in their little leather suit outfits that they buy after their shop hits it big. LOL!

| Reply

They have GOT to put that in. I can only imagine what the costume people could come up with.

I will to I love Dumbledore and wish he didnt die!!!! :( R.I.P. Albus Dumbledore!!!!!!!

Believe me, you won't be the only one crying!!!!

Yeah, my son has already warned me about bringing
along enough tissue. According to him, it's going to be a showdown.

Michael, you're so right about Neville. He was, also, my favorite. I believe I actually called out a "RIGHT ON" while reading the last few pages of the last book.

Ron has always been my favorite.

he's a cutie

I know!!!! :)

Exactly how I feel, Michael. I kind of wish he and Ginny had married each other in the end.

I've always like Snape. At first you think he's this really mean man, but towards the end you learn about him and his love for Harry's Mom. It's really sweet.

My all-time favorite moment of the series is when Molly Weasley shouts "Get off my daughter you b****!"

That was definately one of the best moment in the whole series in my oppinion. Molly Weasely is one of those people that are so maternal, they are just like a mom to everyone. I would have to say that Molly is definatly in my top 5

| Reply

I actually enjoyed that battle between Bellatrix and Molly much more than the final battle. I can't wait to see that in the Deathly Hallows movie (even if it is years away_)

LOl i love that part too I thought I would never hear her say a bad word!!!!!

| Reply

Molly Weasly is one of those people who you think that they don't know how to cuss.It really surprised me when she yelled that.

They HAVE to put that part in the movie. I remember reading that and thinking "Hell yeah!!" that is definitely one of the best parts of the series!!

| Reply

I knew Molly had it in her!

I was cheering when Snape died and then when I read the chapter after that one I was crying wishing he hadnt died!!!! R.I.P. Severus Snape!!!! Go Snape!!!!!

I like the kid with the glasses and the scar.

I don't think I've ever heard of that one.. haha

yeah...which one is he again??
XD

When I saw Transformers last week in IMAX, they showed the trailer for HP6. My buddy, who has never seen any of the movies or even really know anything about the story asked me why "the kid with the glasses had a N on his forehead."

Surprisingly enough he liked Transformers.

How can you not know about Harry Potter and his scar? He must live in a cave.

Orrr... he was making a joke. From his cave.

W O W.
That's just sad.
This kid needs some HP education!

I agree if you dont know what Harry Potter is then you havent lived!!!!!!

I already purchased my midnight premiere ticket on Fandango.

I'll still see the midnight premiere though if I win these tickets haha.

haha I would too.

If you win, you should give me your ticket, yeah?
hahahaha, jk. i don't even know you :}

oh man, if i get those I might just have a nerdgasm. My other thought for a derby name was "Luna Shovegood" because I love Luna so much.

I like all of the characters, really. I celebrate their entire catalogues. Especially the creepy ones.

| Reply

I agree. All the characters are cool. Each in their own way. The way they show parts of each of us, and the way they grow (or fail to grow) is why I use Harry Potter stories when I teach my graduate students.

That's really cool. Where do you teach. I might just go there.

Me to!!! I would love to have a teacher do a lesson on Harry Potter!!! I have written so many papers on Harry Potter!!!!! Every single paper i have to write is on Harry Potter!!!!

To have just ONE favorite is very difficult...each character is unique and plays an important role in the series. However, if I have to chose, I would pick Dumbledore. He is such a wise and loving wizard.

MT

(But it should be also noted that I have elaborate daydreams about doing christopher-walken-esque dances in hotel lobbies and Ikea with the Weasley Twins. Not even joking. I need a shrink.)

Hmm... I should run a HP marathon this weekend just to get into a hogwarty mindset for the new one.

I already have one planned!!!!!I have ordered a Harry Potter cake to for each movie!!!!!! What can I say I am a freak!!!!! but not just any old freak I am a Harry Potter freak!!!!!! And I am proud of it!!!!!! :)

| Reply

Rock on Amanda!!!!

Who here has bought their midnight premiere tickets?

MT
| Reply

oh you KNOW it. I'll probably be wearing a costume too.

Okay, so it may seem strange - but I really really liked Slughorn in the sixth book. I thought his character was really interesting and convincing. He wasn't evil or anything, but the way he "admired" power wizards and had "favorites" I found him to be a very entertaining addition to the series. Not to mention his involvement in telling Tom Riddle about the horcruxes....

MT
| Reply

I completely agree with you. He was so complex!

Pottaaaahhhh!!!!!

Will the screening be in iMax?

I really love how the Harry Potter cast has stayed the same the entire run, even Ginny from the first movie.

me too!

I agree, that is why I can hardley wait to see this new one.....

| Reply

I also like that they have kept the same cast for the characters. It wouldn't be same without the cast.

Did you know they thought about changing them?? Everyone protested though so it really didnt matter!!!!

| Reply

The best and most compelling character by far is Severus Snape! The whole "Is he good or evil" aspect of his character made reading about him riveting!

The first book really focused on that, then it kind of went away until the 6th.

Bilbo is my favorite...pick me so I can see what happen to the ring...

| Reply

I'm surprised the spam filter didn't catch this gem.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I was the "spam filter" who approved it. And at this point, I'm going to approve any comment that isn't "Pick me, pick me, pick me!!1!"

| Reply

It made me chuckle. :) Glad not everyone is taking this super die hard seriously.

my favorite character is sirius. unfortunately he isn't in this movie because voldemort *killed* him in "the order of the phoenix."
(i used asterisks because i don't really believe he's dead. of course i've read all the books and am waiting for the final final one... the one where sirius comes back)

I don't think that one is going to happen.. :(

I love Gary Oldman. I think he is an amazing actor, so I obviously thought he did a fantastic job as Sirius. I hated the fact that he had to be killed off.

| Reply

Don't laugh, but when I read that part I cried. He was the only true family Harry had left.

I love Neville. I loved him in all the books and the movies. Although I did become a really big fan of Luna Lovegood because she was so weird yet so likeable.
I can't wait to see this movie!

| Reply

Pick me, pick me! I TOTALLY wanna take the podling. She's been an HP fan since before she could read. We would read them to her, then in her early school career she did at least TWO reports on Harry Potter (with art work and everything). Now she's read them all, and owns every released DVD...

And as a parent, there are MUCH WORSE obsessions your kid could have. This one is at least imaginative, and entertaining for a parent to follow.

My favorite character is Harry's godfather, Sirius Black. He's the dark and ominous rebel, with a sketchy lineage and past, but with a true heart of gold. Misunderstood and maligned, but still the good guy.

go SIRIUS!!!
(he's definitely in my top 5)

Neville Longbottom has got to be the best awkward geek character in a long time. I love him. I like all of the Weasley's as well - so quirky and wild, and smart. The kind of folks everyone should have as friends.

Of course there is the wonderfully evil Voldemort. An evil genius if there ever was one.

What great books, and movies. If you haven't heard the audiobook versions, you're missing something. The reader is freaking fabulous. Brings the books to life in a way I couldn't when I read them, and I was astounded at the books when I read them.

Please, I'd love tickets for me and my kids.

Thanks,

Brian

I have tried to use the audio versions, they don't work for me. Only because I know I can read faster than they speak, so it takes a long time to finish the audiobook.

Jim Dale ( Pete's Dragon, Barnum) is the reader for the Harry Potter audio books.
I haven't heard the audio books, but I've heard he's fabulous and would believe it. He's very talented.

| Reply

OOOOOOO! The audiobooks are so great Jim Dale give everyone the perfect voice to fit their personality I can read alot faster than him but I just finished listening to the audios there great!

Characters like Snape and Tonks seem to be my favorites but the relationships were what got me. For instance Harry and Ginny, I felt like a kid again reading that.

BTW If I win please give me two tickets. If I see this movie without my wife she will kill me. And not quickly either.

Uh-OH.
Looks like we've got a Homicidal HP Fanatic on our hands!!

I'm all over this! Let me at it!

I can't wait to see this.

| Reply

I WANT TO SEE THIS SO BAD! One of us better win!

i could go for this!!!

| Reply

Frigging awesome! Must... win! I've always been partial to Ron. Funny dude.

I would have to say that my personal favorite is Snape in this portion of the story. Anyone who actually reads the books knows why.

My favorite character from book 6 is Dumbledor.

I just recently gave this movie series a shot, and I must say that I am now hooked! I now hope to win tickets to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

I am commenting on this post as i really want to win tickets of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" before anyone else.i really hope that i win this tickets.

I would have to say the twins. I must say I'm so very thrilled I'm not the only HP nutter out there. I got so much grief from friends and family when I started reading the series, but I just wouldn't hear it. I'm hooked, so sad the series is over. I hope we do score two tickets when I win, because, I'm proud to say my husband is a reluctant convert. I got the chills when I saw the trailer in the theater. Money's been tight so these tix will come in handy. I want to see what they cut out.

Yeah, me too. When I saw the previews for the new HP film...GOOSEBUMPS man, GOOSEBUMPS. You could see the hair standing on my skin. I can NOT wait for this film. I really hope I win these tickets!

By the way Longbottom is my second favorite

Professor McGonagall is my favorite

Ooh... I want tix please.
Fave character have to be Luna because she's a bit out of it

In the books: Sirius Black, in the movies: Ron Weasley, in my dreams: Cedric Diggory...

I don't really have any favorite character in particular. If I had to choose one I would actually go with Dobby. And this is, very much, a love/hate sorta emotion that the weird lil guy seems to bring out. I love to hate him. I seriously want to punch him in the face, but at the same time I get a kick out of making fun of the lowly house-elf. He's very much like Jar Jar of Star Wars notoriety.

Then again, I might go with Myrtle ("Miserable, moaning, moping Myrtle!"). She seems kinky.

Snape is my favorite character. He's the most complex. In the earlier books, you got the sense that there was something more there. He's always had a mistique about him. The truth is heart-breaking.

MT
| Reply

OMG. Absolutely heart wrenching...!

MT
| Reply

Albus Dumbledoor is my favorate followed by Neville. Then Harry Potter and Ron.

Hermione and Ginny are always my favorites.

Snape is my favorite character followed by Ron Weasley. I like the seriousness in him played by Alan Rickman.

My favorite character is Hermione because of her smarts in wizardry kinda like the Egon of the Ghostbusters.

| Reply

Hermoine because she always does the right thing . . . even when the right thing does not follow the "rules". I particularly liked her in Order of the Phoenix. The reader realized her development from a by the book kind of girl to an independent young woman. She thrived on defiance but with the certainty it was necessary. And it doesn't hurt that my boyfriend calls me Hermoine when I try to make a point

Yes Hernoine is my favorite also, as she that special look about her and is always trying to go by the rules. I also like it because they are the same characters in the movies.

MT
| Reply

You make a good point and she will be with him through to the end.

My favorite character is Severus Snape because I like his serious expressions played by Alan Rickman also how is voice is expressed when he talks!

My other favorite character is Ron Weasley. I like his goofyness and his hair.

Re: audio books

The whole series is great on audio books. We just went to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon and played Deathly Hallows all the way. No fighting over music, no trying to tune in a station, no weird radio disk jockeys. For a long trip, it is a great idea.

MT
| Reply

LOVE this idea - I am sooo going to get HP on audio!

I agree listening to the books on CD is great. It brings the story to life especially with English Accents, etc. I enjoyed listening to the last three on CD.

Best Character:
Harry himself. He remained a humble, everyday kid through all the teenage angst, magical powers, and chosen one bit.

| Reply

My favorite characters are Lupin and Sirius. Close seconds though are Fred and George and Professor McGonagall.

| Reply

Those guys are defenetly in my top5.

| Reply

This would be a great thing. I can't wait to see this one. My favorite book by far.

I really like Hagred. He is ver large & scary looking, but he is just a big sweetheart.

Yeah, he's a real tuffie :D

Harry Potter is the best character of course. It is around him that the story revolves and his good heart is the core of the story.

Of course Hermoine is another main character that is a favorite. She is the nerdy bookworm that helps Harry accomplish all that he can.

I would have to agree with Lucie. Snape is my fave character as well. Who else had such a profound effect on the story. If he hadn't heard "the secret" then none of the story would've happened. Also, His love for Lily is what advanced things further in MAJOR ways read the books and you'll know what I mean. I'm expecting big things from this movie that none of the commercials have touched on.... Pensive anyone?

I really like Dumbledor.I just wish they would have left the original actor with the raspy voice.

Dumbledor is a great character. They make him be so smart & witty. I just wish that they would have used the same actor in all of the movies.

He died after "Chamber of Secrets."

| Reply

Wow. I did not know that. Thats so sad. Thanks for the info.

Ron Weasley. Hands down.

Hermione Granger. I love her spunky attitude.

| Reply

Neville Longbottom has to come first in my book. He was always an outcast for being clumsy and odd but he never gave up and was always a loyal friend and in the end shows why he was put in Gryfindor in the first place. He is really a person everyone should aspire to.

| Reply

Next I would say Snape. Though he seems abrasive he truly has his heart in the right place. It's kind of like he was sucked into the cult or Voldemort and trying to escape was one of the hardest (and most noble) things he could have done.

The Weasley's in general are a great dynamic of the book and movies. It shows that a family can be just as loving without a lot of money and I think that they gave many kids from lower economic families a boost in pride that I think they deserved!

I think a lot of people missed the boat when they were asked about their favorite characters from HBP... a lot of posts are talking about characters who aren't even in the sixth book, or referring to elements of the story that don't take place during that time in the series.

I mean, I respect all your opinions and they are all valid because there are a ton of great characters from the series....but not really relevant to the question, you know?

| Reply

Hermione is, by far, the best character! She's strong-willed and smart, and adds depth to the scenes with Harry and Ron...plus the funny scenes where Ron is JUST TOO DUMB to figure out that he likes her for more than a friend/buddy. (Guys can be so dense!!!)

I think the next obvious choice is Sirius Black! He's kinda like that kid from summer camp...you never met before but by the end of the week you are inseprable. I love how though we really never get to know Sirius very well we are still naturally drawn in by him and his story. And the fact that he often has to step back and reflect on himself is a great example of what we should do as people.

Next is Remus Lupin! Okay, let's go over this, he's a nice, chocolate giving, teacher of great skill, that just happens to become a werewolf. What more needs to be said?

| Reply

I think the movie is better than the book, it really makes the characters come to life. My favorite character is Dumbledor.

| Reply

I like Professor McGonnagle. 1) She can turn into a cat...(I love cats!) 2) She supports the students in Hogwarts. She's stern with them, but you know she loves them. I know she's not one of the kids in the story...but she plays an important role!

I really like Draco Malfoy's character. I know I'm getting glares of death but hear me out! He comes from a privleged family and has everything he could ever want...except his father's attention and approval. He is a victim! Yes he makes some poor choices but really his father never paid any attention to him until he realized how he could manipulate his son. Poor Draco Malfoy. He's not really bad, he's just written that way. ;)

Ellen, i agree with you on Draco and Luna :)

Plus i love Tom Felton, has anyone heard his music? he's an awesome singer and guitar played
Feltbeats

Now Luna Lovegood is a great character! She is quirky but always looks on the bright side of things!

| Reply

My next favorite character is Professor Lupin. He knew Harry's father, and he hasn't forgotten what it was like, being a student at Hogwarts. I wish he could have been around for more of the book, but he plays an important part when he does show up! I like it when he gives Harry back the Marauder's map before he leaves.

| Reply

I agree. Lupin was one of the coolest adult figures in the HP books. I like the part in the third book when he & Sirius explain every thing to Harry,Ron,and Hermione. It was one of my favorit parts in the book.

One of my favorite characters in 'Harry Potter' is Draco Malfoy. In the first book, Draco was my least favorite character. He was a cowardly bully who manipulated others, and teased and taunted his victims. But as the books went on, I started liking him. In the last book Draco even started becoming nice! When Harry saved Draco, I was happy, because what's Harry Potter without Malfoy?? I also like Hermione because she is very intellient. She was always planning, and always found a way out of sticky situations. I LOVE HARRY POTTER!!

Now for the bigges. Let's start with Ron Weasley. He is a loving and loyal friend who's fear of everything creates great comedy! His secret love of Hermione is also adorable and I didn't realize it but I was secretly rooting for them through all 7 books!

Ellen, relax. You're entered into the contest.

Sorry! as you can tell I really love the books and movies! I'm done i swear!

Your enthusiasm is fun. Just want to make sure you don't spend your entire 4th of July weekend stuck in front of a computer trying to win movie tickets. ;)

Hermione Granger. I seriously used to be that girl! My head was never not buried in a book and I was also fearless! I love her!

my daughter likes Hermione naturally as she is smart and skillfull ....

I think Ginny is an appropriate character to discuss next. She has been one of the most endearing characters! Her face turning bright read whenever Harry was in the room! Oh I can't tell you what joy it brought me that those two make it!

Really. One comment was all it took. You're in the contest.

Okay...and OF COURSE...I like Harry. He always takes charge and beats Voldemart...or at least has a victory for the good side. But he is lucky that he has his close friends to have his back...to help him keep his confidence!

Another one of my favorite characters is Neville Longbottom. He started out timid, shy, and dorky. People took advantage of him, and he eventually stood up for himself! In Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix, Neville took a stand, and helped Harry with the Order. Also, in the last book, while Harry, Ron, and Hermione were away, Neville was definitley a hero. He stood up for everyone, and took the severe punishments from the Carrows. AND.... he refused to join Voldemort when the "Dark Lord" asked! Neville is a true hero!

... I prefer Sirius. He was awesome in the book but I thought Gary Oldman was way underused in the films. Also ...The original 100% commercial-free music Satellite Radio Service and official home of the NFL, Howard Stern, Martha Stewart and NASCAR. Listen in your car, ...

I love Neville Longbottom.

Arthur Weasely is incredible. He believes and helps Harry through it all, and his quirks make him so endearing! Not to mention all he puts up with (and by that I mean Molly Weasely). Definitely one of my favorites.

Professor Dumbledor because he is intelligent, and acts like he truly cares about Harry

I love Luna lovegood! She is totally the most carefree, funloving person in the books! I like her because she is so out there, and mysterious. You never know what to expect with "Loony Lovegood"! I also love her and her father's obsession with Crumple Horned Shornacks!

I love ALL of the Weasleys, but Fred and George are fantastic! They may not look it, but they are so smart, funny, and strong-willed! I love how their pranks played a part in defeating Voldemort! The Puking Pastilles were genius!

Hard chocie....but lets see I'm gonna have to say harry. He is by far my fav and not because he is the main character. He is brave and witty and i enjoy watching his character grow over the years!!!

Harry Potter.... Of course, he is the main character! He is so strong, smart, and humble. I still don't understand why it took him so long to fall for Ginny! They make a cute couple! He beat voldemort hands down!

I would have to say Dobby the house-elf. I think of him to be really funny but yet faithfull to his friends. He has also been forgotten over the last couple movies because in the movies they have been giving Neville credit for Dobby's deeds. For example, it was Dobby who gave Harry the gillyweed in "The Goblet of Fire" and it was Dobby who found the "Room of Requirements" in "The Order of the Pheonix". I just think Dobby deserves more credit than he has been given. Especially considering what happens to him in the last book...

Hermoine is my favorite character. She is extremely smart and is equipped for any situation. She gives a whole new meaning to the terms "wiz kid". I also feel it was her strength that got Harry through alot of the dangerous situations they have faced throughout the series.

favorite character is of couse Mr. Harry Potter.Im actually a new comer to liking the movies, but now im addicted and.... My best friend who lives in France will be in town when the movie comes out and he is dying to see it.

My favorite character has to be either Ron or Voldemort. I like Ron because he's random, a scardy-cat, and he's the funniest one. But, i also like Voldemort because i'm the kind of guy that doesn't like to see happy endings all the time, and he's scary-looking. He just brought a whole new feel to the movies and the books. That's why the sixth book is one of my favorites of the series, after the last, because it has a great deal of action scenes. Plus Dumbledore dies, so it fits in with my hating happy endings.

I like Kreacher in the last book, because Harry learns to love the old houseelf! Kreacher is more ubbeat and happy and even tends to the "Mudblood" Hermione.

Harry Potter is so amazing he gets to have a mysterious family history then learn magic and to meet all these weird creatures and go to all strange and creepy places is so neat.. Harry Potter can discover the strength of this inner magic that he was born with and to watch him grow and gain all this super powers is the best.

i love to watch his movies since the being so do my kids this movie looks like its going to the best

I'd have to say that Cedric Diggory is one of my fav's, it's just to bad we will never see him in another Harry Potter movie just in those other book movies(Twilight) that sucks.

harry potter is the best. you never know what unknown powers to us and himself he will come up with.

Sirius Black, hands down. Gary Oldman cant play a bad role, in the three movies he's in he dose a great job. I just wish they never got rid of him, maybe he'll come back as a ghost, a spirit, or something.

MALFOY ALL THE WAY!!!

I really hope i win!!! I'm a total Harry Potter freak! I have all the movies and all of the books and i could probably quote from them because I have read them so many times.

OMG! I can't wait to see Harry Potter! My favorite character is Hermione because she's so smart!

Hagrid is my favorite character. He is SO big, but looks like a hug is his favorite thing in the world. In many ways he reminds me of my Dad- course Dad isn't quite as tall, but is hairy! And loving, caring, and just all around great guy. I really can't wait.

Sooo excited for the new Harry Potter movie. My favorite character has to be Harry himself. He rocks!!!!

I absolutley LOVE Dobby! He thought Harry was an Idol! I loved it when Dobby found the sock in Voldemort's diary! Dobby is the sweetest, most loving house elf ever! I was devastaed when the evil Bellatrix got him... :(

I love Hagrid! He is big and gruff on the outside, but is a big softie on the inside. He loves animal, and so do I. I love it when he brings Harry, Ron, and Hermione to Grawp. Grawp is a big softie too.

| Reply

My favorite character is Harry himself. He is one of the most relatable heroes in a story that I have ever read. He has struggles, self-doubt, and because of his kindness to others, is lifted up by his friends.

Hermione is one of my favorites because she is most like me! I always have my head stuck in a book..... and i am a strong-willed girl! I like it when she gets Malfoy!

| Reply

Ginny is my favorite character because she is smart and brave.

I must say that my favorite character would have to be Luna Lovegood. Her personality and spirit are so amusing and pure. Maybe I'm biased, because she reminds me of a blonde me, but I still say Luna. Luna's beliefs are highly influenced, I think, by the fact that her father works for the Quibbler. But that only makes her more believable. She was immortalized as my favorite in the 5th book. J.K. Rowling was a genious with her. If I win, which I doubt, due to the entries so much better than mine, I'd love Looney Lovegood even more.

Kristin, I like Luna Lovegood too! She is so mysterious, and so wierd, yet cool! I hope we both win!

!!!OMG!!! I cannot decide!!! I Luv Them All!!!

OOOOOOOO I KNOW! it was hard for me too I love all the characters. I have only hated ONE character throughout the book series. GILDEROY LOCKHEART! he just really gets on my nerves!

I adore Hermione Granger not just because she is the dynamic female but because she taught me when i was little that it is ok to be smart. I also love Neville Longbottom because he can be corky and wierd at times like me but still really smart. Ron Weasley just because hes a red head and it is a proven fact that all red heads are cool!!! Sirius Black is awesome because he taugh all of us that you can know in your heart that your good even if everyone else tries to prove you wrong and that you can be the first person to break out of Askaban! :) I also love Harry Potter because not only does he fight evil in every book (he who must not be named; Voldemort), He also has to go through the dungeons at Hogwarts but has to get past a three headed dog named Fluffy, try not to get killed by vines, find a key that flys in the air that is mixed up with a thousand other keys, play wizard chess life-sized, and fight Voldemort being on the back of Professor Quierell's head, and trying to protect the Socerer's Stone. All in the first book!! In the second book he has to turn in to another person by Poly juice potion, go into the Chamber of Secrets, talk in snake tounge, save Ginny Weasley (his future wife),fight Tom Riddle the young version of Voldemort, kill a diary, and stab a Basilisk with the sword of Griffindor!! In the third book his life is pretty calm for him and he has only three issues other than school, Ron's pet rat Scabbers turns into Peter Pettigrew a follower of Voldemort, Sirius Black, and Professor Lupin turning in to a Werewolf!! In the fourth book he has to deal with a new teacher named Mad Eye Moody who turns out being a death eater who drank Poly Juice Potion, compete in the Triwizard Tournament ment for 17 year olds and he is only 14, fight a dragon, rescue Ron and Fluer Decluar's younger sister, and go in a maze that takes him straight to Voldemort when he gets to the cup. In the fifth book he starts his own secret society named Dumbledores Army, deal with a new teacher who has cruel punishments and works for the minisrty, goes into the ministry of magic only to fight Death eaters and Voldemort and ends up coming out with his godfather Sirius Black dying, in the sixth book he goes with Dumbledore to a lake where Voldemort grew up and find a horcruxe a piece of the soul, and when they return Dumbledore ends up getting killed. in the seventh book he does so much that it is hard to write it all btu the best part is when he kills Voldemort and when he marries Ginny!! All in all the characters all matter and if you like one then you have to like another because the are all tyed together!!! I love Harry Potter hnads down and winning this contest would mean so much to me, I have all the books, movies, and CD's and listen to them on a daily basis please pick me I have been waiting for this movie to come out!!!

I think Amanda wins.

Hagrid is the best character because he is the BFG (Big Friendly Giant). He loves animals, especially dragons, and is always nice. Hagrid wins hands-down.

Snape, of course. What perfect casting! The most evil actor in history playing a man pretending to be evil. Now that's genius! As for the tickets, I could lie and say they're for my grandson but actually this little old white-headed 77-year-old is a terminally devoted fan of Harry Potter. So let your conscience be your guide and pick me.

Snape is my hero.

Prof. Lupin of course. He is a sad character, a good guy that has to put up with being a werewolf. His greatest fear being the moon and yet he loves Harry and guides him in quest of destroying Voldermort.

Everyone, the good and the bad. They have grown from characters in a book to being real. The whole world of Harry seems real. When you put down the books or turn off the movies you can't help but wonder about those characters we have all come to love and loath.

But in the end he has the most amazing friends, Harry and Hermione, and everything turns out great. He is the greatest best friend ever. He looks out for Harry and would do anything for him. Everyone wants a friend like him!!

| Reply

I am absolutely in love with Harry Potter! But if I have to choose Ron Weasly. He has such humor and always seems to have such bad luck. My favorite experience with him in the movies, was when he was trying to protect Hermione from evil Malfoy and he ended up cursing himself with a spell that made him puke up slugs. That was also one of the first times when he proved to the audience that he was very protective of Hermione and he was falling for her. Even though he never seemed to admit it. I also love his connection with Hermione. They always seem to be arguing about something, but when they are together on screen, you can just feel the chemistry.
So I really hope you pick me. I feel that I proved to you that I really am a HUGE Harry Potter fan.

I have enjoyed watching the progression of Harry Potter's owl. That and Hermione.

If could only pick one it would be Doby the elf. He loved Harry. It made me cry the way everyone so reverently dressed him when he died.

I have taken my niece to every midnight movie premier since the second film and every midnight book premiere since the third book. I adore Ron but she is a Luna fan all the way. She wants to dress as Luna this year and I can't wait to see what she does with her earrings! My nephew used to come with us but now that he is in High School he is to cool. I love that my niece hasn't grown out of Harry Potter and is so excited for the new movie! She will be so excited if we won the tickets!!!

Sirius Black is my all-time favorite character. Gary Oldman plays a perfect Sirius, his scenes are always my favorite.

From the Half-Blood prince, I would have to say my favorite character is Dumbeldore. His dynamic changes w/ Harry and those are the scenes I'm most excited to see.

Duuuuuude, seeing Harry Potter before anyone else? I'm game! We're like, bros for life, dude. Never realized it before, but you can trust Snape. Me and him are cool now. Even though I've never read all the books, or even read them thoroughly, I am so amped to win this! All you hardcore Harry Potter fans, go easy on me. Don't drag me down with your bad vibes, dudes. I've seen all the movies, plus I need something to do. Aside from all the volleyball tourneys, it's turning out to be a bogus summer.

Well I would have to say Ginnny is my favorite character. She really starts to shine through in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She Also, in this movie starts to come out of her shell of being a Harry Potter fan and being in the background. The next character would be Harry. Harrry's transition in this movie is going to be very big, he has to deal with Sirius being gone and also take on new bravery as he helps Dumbledore.

I mean seriously, the bat- bogey hex she puts on malfoy at the beginning...

Preettttty sure you have your books or movies wrong, because that was the 5th book....k (:

I like the Weasley family.

I would say Snape is my favorite because we don't really know where he stands. Is he good or evil?

Steve, read the books ( or at least finish the series) and you will know!

Sirius Black is my favorite character. I love him because at forst we all think he is purely evil. Even Harry is afraid of him because he thinks Sirius killed his parents. I love how it turns out he's a good guy! Harry's godfather and James' best friend. Its too bad he didnt make it through the entire series, but I love him anyway.

I would love to see Harry Potter movie tickets. I've seen all his movies and read all his books also. My favorite person in the movie is Harry Potter.

My favorite was Cedric Diggory, he was very popular but didn't take advantage of it. He was also nice to Harry. He was very noble and honorable

My favorite character is absolutely Hermione. She is quietly brave, unabashedly geeky, and pals around with two boys instead of dealing with the prissy girls in Gryffindor.

Hermoine,in my opinion,is the best character because she is determined, assured, intelligent, and she believes in doing what she knows is right.I relate to Hermoine the most in the Harry Potter series because my friends say I am way too obsessed with school.
I love Ron's sarcasm! He is so funny in the books and the movies.Fred and George have to be the most hilarious characters in the entire series!
My entire family admires the Harry Potter series. According to them, the Harry Potter books are the best books ever written.
I never cry when I read books, even if they're sad,but the Harry Potter series is the only book series that's ever made me cry.

My favorite person would have to be Hermione. She is so smart for the most part. I truthfully love all the Weasleys especially Fred and George. When the trio of Harry, Hermione and Ron are on the same page together they have an unique chemistry that they truly make the movies what they are.
J.K. Rowlings has a fantastic writing style and it is awesome they way that the story flows.

I definitely have to say one of my all time favorite characters is Dumbledore. Especially in the sixth book where we learn so much more about the history behind Voldemort and Dumbledore, he provides a character that is serious, yet still is comedic and can lighten any mood.

Dumbledore is my favorite character. He always has a twinkle in his eye, and he knows things no one else knows. He is always on the side of good.

My favorite character is probably Fred Weasley. I like George, too, but Fred's funny!

I love Dobby. He makes me cry!

Luna is cool because of her uniqueness, although she can be awkward sometimes

I love the Harry potter series

I have ALL the movies books and Audiotapes! I can't wait to see this movie!!!I love all the characters but my favorite was Sirius Black. He had such a rebellious personality! He didn't care that he was pure-blood, rich, and came from a Slytherin home. He was a true Griffindor until the end. My other favorites are definately Ginny, Neville, Lupin, Tonks, Snape, Bellatrix (she made the perfect evil villan), Malfoy (his character had such a story), and Magonagol (because she reminds me of my mom)!

| Reply

BTW ^ i meant magonagol remind me off my mom in personality not age. HAHA but i love all the main characters (but there getting enough credit already) One of my other favorite characters (even though I like all of them) was MAD EYE MOODY!!! Even though he was really strange but he taught everyone to learn from there mistakes. I don't know if buckbeak is considered a "character" but I loved him too if I ever get a pet bird thats what I'll name him!

One of my favorites is Albus Dumbledore.

even at 63 years of age i have read all seven books, seen and bought all the movies, and can harly wait to see the the last movie sad to say.
hard to belive how grown up they look. Emma watson enjoys fly fishing from what i have read about her. i my self love fly fishing. it's an art if you can master it. Daniel, and Rupert are and will be my heros. to bad this has to end. i just hope none of the main guys die. just in case Mrs . k changes her mind...

EVEN AT AGE 62 I ENJOYED ALL SEVEN BOOKS AND MOVIES. TO BAD IT HAS TO COME TO AN END. JUST HOPE NONE OF THE MAIN GUYS DIE IN THIS LAST MOVIE, JUST IN CASE MRS. K. CHANGES HER MIND.
EMMA W. LOVES FLY FISHING FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ABOUT HER. I TO ENJOY FLY FISHING, IT'S AN ART WHEN YOU MASTER IT. DANIEL, EMMA AND RUPERT ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY HEROS. THEY SURE LOOK GROWN UP NOW. WATCHING THEIR MOVIES THEY HAVE COME A LONG WAY. CAN HARDLY WAIT TO SEE THEM AGAIN...

I've always loved Hermione, just because of her witty, smart-alack, comebacks. She knows her strengths and who she is. That's what makes her a great character.

I love Harry Potter! I have all the books and can't wait for the movie :) My favorite characters are the Weasley twins. They are sooo fun!

can't wait to see the movie, finally

Harry's my favorite character.
I want to win tickets so badly!

My favorite character out of the Harry Potter series is Hagrid. I like Hagrid because he is very sentimental and sensitive. He tends to see the good in everyone and cares for the creatures that live in the forbidden forest, like Aragog.

i grew up with the kids at hogwartz!!! dumbledore was the best, and i was devestated when he was lost):

I love Hermione. She is very smart and pretty. I like how she puts Harry and Ron in their place when needed. I also like that she'll stand up for what she believes. For example, when Harry used the Potion book from the Half-Blood Prince she advised him not to, but Harry wouldn't listen. She kept insisting until her point was proven right.

My favorite Harry Potter book/movie was Prisoner of Askaban because it had a great plot and it had a pretty positive ending. With Dumbledore dying in The Half Blooded Prince, it left me feeling pretty down and out, even more so than Sirius Black dying - one of my favorite characters. It was a great story, but the dark side coming out on top at the end was a bit hard to swallow. After Sirius died, Lupin became my favorite living character. He represents the resiliency of the human spirit to triumph over evil, even in the most difficult of personal tribulations. Harry Potter has so much to teach us all, especially the students with which I work.

My favorite character will have to be ronald weasley. He's not that rich but still, hes a really great friend. I think Rubert Grint made a great ronald weasley.

(: I love harry potter and I love the Fresno Bee, and how great is that to have people who love both in one theatre (: great idea!

& Dumbledore is my favorite character in "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" I really like how he tries to help Harry and he sacrifices a lot for him. And he is a comedic character even when there are serious moment he can lighten up the mood because himself is the only comparable wizard to "he who must not be named".

Kingsley Shacklebolt! From reading the book I feel that he was one of the most powerful wizards, right after Dumbledore. Not to mention he is a leader of the resistance in Book 7 & become Minister of Magic in the conclusion of the series. Plus, as an Auror, he had a cool job!

I'm a big fan of Harry Potter movies and my son also. Hopefully I get choosen to win those tickets and be able to take my son.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING (:

I would have to say Ron, because I like his dimwittedness. It makes him funny

Actually, I like Ron. He’s a bit more mischievous than Harry. He’s always the one getting into trouble

My favorite character in HP probably has to be Ron Weasley. He is a great quirky character that is always fun to read about. I just love his interaction with Hermione. I am a hopeless romantic and will forever root for Ron and Hermione. As you can imagine, I was salivating to see them get together finally in the last book. I just loved it! Here's to Ron Weasley...the cutest red head in fictional history!!

And just to give myself another chance at the win, second would be Sirius Black. I wish his character had been developed more in both books and especially movies. I like that he was one of few that didn't want to keep Harry in the dark about what was going on. A lot of other characters spent a lot of time trying to hide things from Harry, but Sirius just thought he should know the truth.

I love Hagrid. He is a most true and loyal friend and would do anything for those he loves. He is smarter than he is given credit and who can resist someone who loves dragons?

Wow this is a ridiculous amount of comments. Congrats on the turn out. Hopefully I win!!

I'm so traditional... its hard for me to choose among the original threesome (Harry, Hermione, and Ron).

Harry, F.T.W!

Oooooooooh I can't wait to see this!

I love Hagrid. He's such a gentle giant with a great big heart!

My favorite character is defiently ron weasley!!!!I love his red hair and how he is always by harry's side. He also has an amazing, funny family.

Luna Lovegood would also have to be one of my favorite characters because of her out-of-this-world style and personality. I love how she doesn't care what people think and she is always her weird, cool self! :)

I like Snape. He loved Lily, and only protected Harry because of it. I felt bad for him when Harry's dad tormented him. But Snape has a gentle heart.

Ron Weasley! I hope I win!

I always have to go with Ron Weasley. He is just too cute not to love. I was also a geek so I appreciate Hermione...

Ron is one of my favorite characters, I actually like his entire family -- even his rather dumb older brother. I love the twins!

Ok another favorite character of mine is the young Voldemort is pretty awesome. I mean the way he was able to get Professor Slughorn to tell him about the horcruxes... You have to give him some credit. His way with words and persuasive abilities are top notch. I know he was bad but he was really good at it!

I like Hermione because she is not afraid to show off her intelligence.

Hermione is my favorite character because she's so smart and confident! She tends to show everyone up on what they say/do.

My favorite HP character is definitely Ginny Weasley. She's kind of an underdog at the beginning of the series. The people in her life just see her as this petite/quiet girl but you finally get to see her shine in the fifth book. She turns out to be stronger than most people thought.

I like Harry, Ron and Hermione. I actually like all the characters really :p

I am sooo excited about the new movie!!! I have read all the books and seen all the movie to date!!!

I like Dumbledore and Harry in this book. Lots of adventure between them two.

Luna Lovegood is a personal favorite for her creativity and because she doesn't care what others think.

My favorite character is Hagrid. He introduces great creatures into the story always with mixed results.

Yay for Harry Potter! My favorite characters, (plural because "How can you just choose one?!")are Dobby, the Twins! (two for one), and Neville (the hero in disguise)... ahhh, so many to choose from...

I really love Dumbledore in Half Blood Prince. He Battled inferi and he was in the book more! Oh, are tthe tickets for a certain city?

I really like Harry Potter. He is brave and mentally strong. He cares very much for everyone close to him and he would do anything for his friends.

I am so excited about the movie!! I love the Weasley family!

Neville Longbottom is the best. Someone who has had so much sadness in his life, I love that he gets to find something he loves to do and be a success.

ITS MaGiC!!!

Fred and George Weasley. I'm a sucker for a guy in a Quidditch uniform.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Luna Lovegood!! I would also LOVE LOVE LOVE tickets to see the movie!!!

i have been waiting for this movie for what seems like forever!
i would love to get some free tickets, though i am a cheap fan, i am also an avid harry potter fan as well :D
if i don't win this, i'll see you at the midnight premeire!

to keep up with the theme:
my favorite characters are ron, fred, and george- i'm a big fan of comic relief :)

my favorite person is harry potter. he the one that make the movie what it is. all movie been good but this one looks like it takes the cake

My favorite character is Hermoine. I just love her and how she plays out. She's really not afraid to do anything.

My favorite character is Dumbledore. He's like the head coach of a sports team. He knows the players on his team and he knows how to put them into the best positions to win the game (beating Voldemort) but along the way is there to teach life lessons and foster growth.

I'm fond of Mrs Weasley. She rules the house with an iron fist.

Hermoine Granger is very amusing. I think she's played well by Emma Watson.

May I just say that I'm going to lose it if I don't see this movie soon. I love the Harry Potter movies. I keep replacing them with newer formats. Hope blu-ray lasts. I just got those. Seriously though, tickets would be zweet.

Do we need to post a new comment for each drawing, or does the first one count for all of them?

Still, I hope I win. I really hope the include the scene with Luna commentating on the Quidditch match. Probably one of my favorite scenes of the book.

The first comment counts.

My favorite character is Dumbledorf, he's a mentor, yet a father figure to Harry in so many ways. He guides him along the path of right, yet also lets him choose his own way, and when he goes astray, using magic in ways he shouldn't, He's right there to set him back upon the path of righteousness.

My favorite character is Professor Snape. I enjoy his lethargic, monotonous, deep voice as well as the way he manages to hate pretty much everyone, yet somehow he manages to remain loyal to Dumbledore (even if he did what he did). He was bullied when he was younger, and I can relate to that.

I would like Snape even more if I got the free tickets :D

I love Lupin - He's such a good person. Remember how kind he always was to Neville!
Tickets would REALLY be GREAT!

I love Lupin - He's such a good person. Remember how kind he always was to Neville!

In my mind, Snape is the most "real" character in the entire Harry Potter universe.
He's the most three dimensional, having both evil and good in him.
He had a tortured childhood (as seen in the memories Harry snuck into), make some really bad choices in his early adulthood,
and repented.

While not my absolute favorite character, Hagrid is also ONE of my favorites.
He is just so big, loyal and loveable, like a big old teddy bear. He's proof of the existence of "gentle giants".
And I think, in my opinion, that there were none more devoted to Dumbledore than Hagrid

I have loved the books since before i could read!!!!!! My mom read them to me when i was little as my bed time story!! The first one came out in 1997 and my mom got her hands on it right away and at that time i was only 3 so we read it together. I remember I would go around preschool shouting spells and then have to go sit in time out...... I did crazy things because i loved harry so much!!!!! My favorite character has always been Hermione!!!!! that was almost the first word i said...... sadly mama came before and a whole two years...... and then i said it!!! :)

It would mean alot to me to win this contest because there has been so many tradgedies in my family lately and my cousin is turning 16 soon and i would love to give these tickets to him!!!!!

What's the best thing to do while one waits for the next movie in the series comes out, and one has read, and reread, all the books? Why - listen to Stephen Fry read them aloud, of course!

Looking forward to the Half-Blood Prince now that Fry has so wonderfully refreshed my memory of the book!

my two favorite characters are harry and ginny, harry for being brave and the willingness to surpass any obstical, ginny cus is stong independent woman who will win harry's heart in the end

I think that Professor McGonagall is one of the best characters in the book. She always had Harry's best interest at heart, was very loyal, and when necessary, she knew when to break the rules too.

I want 2 see Harry Potter the Half-Blooded Prince so bad i been wanting 2 see the movie from the day the boook came out and i finished reading the book. O would Love to see the movie so bad. So please.

i like the character that does magic. i don't really want to win the tickets, but if i do i'm going to collect my tickets and then not go to the movie.

If you don't want to go, why bother commenting?

the thrill of victory. the agony of defeat for others. spite.

and i believe that this second comment will be my winner. deep down in my heart i know this to be true. because i love the character that does magic.

Wow. You want to be that guy who deprives little kids of seeing their favorite movie? For spite? Congratulations.

"You want to be that guy who deprives little kids of seeing their favorite movie?"

kathy,
try not to get too dramatic. i'd also like to deprive 62 year old grandparents (commented on this thread) middle aged people, teenagers, and people that misspell their favorite character's name. and people that talk while donald munro tries to enjoy performances.

should i win, i will give my tickets to the first person that sends me a message on fresno famous.

if you want me to win, keep dialoging, and it will up my chances (more comments = more entries).

Oh, Edward. Remember last week when I told you you're a sweet guy in real life and a dick online? Print out this comment thread and carry it around with you, so the next time I say this to you, you won't have to ask me for examples.

i didn't disagree with you then. but, perhaps you might reread these comments as a joke. i mean, really, i said i like the character that does magic. how seriously can that be taken?

"i like the character that does magic. i don't really want to win the tickets, but if i do i'm going to collect my tickets and then not go to the movie."

Sorry, still sounds less like a light-hearted joke, and more like some guy trying to be a dick. But if you say that's what it was, I'll believe you. Maybe you should take a lesson from bradley and start including a little winky face with your douchier comments.

i sent in another comment, after kathy's original to me, that has yet to post, but was before your comment to me. not sure why it didn't post, maybe it got lost in teh internets. or magic took it. that comment + the my original comment + my second comment = funny. at least i think they read funny from my snarky perspective. btw, in said missing comment i also said if i won i would give the tickets away on fresno famous.

come on, "the deep down in my heart" part isn't funny?

Wait, I'm sorry. You're trying to win tickets from the Beehive so that you can turn around and create your own little pretend giveaway on Fresno Famous?

Wow. All along I thought you were trying to be a dick, but clearly you're Robin Hood.

I like Sirius. He is so cool with his bike. I love how he took in

Dumbledore is my favorite. He's old, but still has plenty of new tricks up his sleeves.

There are so many amazing characters in the series, but my favorites are Fred and George Weasley. They don't get much screen time in the movies, but they are too adorable in the books. Hopefully they will be a bit more central to this latest film...

I like Dumbledore best. He is funny, caring, yet intimidating at the same time. He is someone that Harry looks up to as a friend and also as a father figure. Dumbledore is always there for the people he cares for.....even when they don't know it!!!

I love Ron. He's just absolutely halarious and always seems not there so much, that's just like how I am!

My favorite character ever in the Harry Potter series is Cedric Diggory. I absolutely love him. I was so crushed when he had to die :( Also, I loved it that Rob Pattinson played him :) I love Rob and he was the perfect cast for the character! He played him so well. Cedric FTW!

I'll put my name in the hat.. not necessarily because I'm dying to see this movie, but more importantly it would make the significant other totally happy. And that my friends is ALWAYS a good thing.

I actually love all of the characters because I relate to all of them. I would love to win tickets also cause it means that I would get to see one of my most favorite movies that I've been waiting for to long to see. I cant wait for them all to com out to dvd because I'm gona rebuy all seven of the movies and rebuy a second copy of all seven books. Please pick me to win tickets to see Harry Potter and the Half Blooded Prince on my birtday July 13. I love Harry and his friends and cant wait to see the rest of the last to movies to come out.

I have always loved Hermione Granger. I love it when a female character is not ashamed to be intelligent and smart. Hermione is the brains behind much of what happens in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Harry has got a lot of courage and determination, but he would be spinning his wheels if it weren't for Hermione! And don't forget that Hermione must have plenty of courage herself to be sorted into Gryffindor.

Snape, he's a hottie :)

Harry Potter is such an awesome and incredible journey. JK Rowling was brilliant for having created such a great story. There are soooo many interesting characters that each all have their own unique quirks and bits to add, but I'd have to say my 2 favorite characters are Dobby and Ron. Poor dobby gets mistreated by malfoy and his family as their slave and is happy when harry treats him with kindness and ends up freeing him. And he trys his best to help protect harry. Ron is really funny. Sometimes he seems like he has absolutely no clue about what is going on but he is one of harry's loyal and true friends and would do anything to help him.

WooHoo!!

I write for a youth magazine called the kNOw, we now have six issues out and I was thinking bout doing a movie review. I want to write a movie review on Harry Potter from a youth perspective. I also believe that every chacter in the movie relates to everybody but more to all of the youth. To me Harry is brave and strong, Ron is responsible and true to his friends, and Hermoine is the smart/intelligent one and then u got everybody else that has a uniqness and when u put them all together u get a huge family that fights, sticks together and that will always be together. The Harry Potter movies and books are inspirational to me and I hope to everybody else that sees that good always over comes the darkness/evilness.

Each time I read a comment about a favorite character I think, "They have a point, that character is really awesome!" I believe this means the J.K. Rowling wrote a wonderful series of books with complex and evolving characters. Having reread the entire series many times I am still amazed at the level of detail throughout the series. Ms. Rowling writes about events in the first and second book that do not come to light until the sixth or seventh book. It takes a truly talented author to accomplish this.

Pick me!

The Harry Potter books were very well written. I enjoy reading and I have read these books three times since the last one came out. J.K. Rowlings did a wonderful job on keeping all her timelines in order. My favorite people are the Dursleys. I like them because they can't face reality. They know - yet they refuse to acknowledge the truth.
Petunias' jelousy of her sister is very true in a lot of families. Their treatment of Harry echos how things are in many households today.

Fred and George are by far my favorite. Their down for anything, thier HILARIOUS, and their always inventing crazy stuff!!

I'm so psyched to see this movie! I can't get enough of Harry Potter! When the 1st book came out there was such a buzz about it that I had to find out for myself what everyone was talking about. I read it and I was hooked. I eagerly anticipated the release of every novel and I was never disappointed. They got better and better each time! I loved seeing the characters develop and evolve and I loved escaping into the magical wizarding realm that Rowling created.
Usually I feel that novel-based films don't do the books justice. With Harry Potter this was just not so. The actors and actresses in the Potter films have been spot-on to what I had envisioned them to be. The same wonderful escape from reality I experienced when reading the books followed me to the big screen. You couldn't ask for a better cast!
Rowling amazed me with her attention to detail. That's what made it so real and so addicting to me. She really brought the characters and the wizarding world to life!
When I talk about Harry Potter I speak as if everything Rowling created is real. A lot of people think I'm a nerd because of it but I always tell them, "Before you say anything, GO READ THE BOOKS!"
I've read and re-read the books several times over. The same goes for for the movies. I just can't get enough of them! I've seen them countless times and have shared them with both my children who are also huge Potter fans!! While other kids are pretending to be Hannah Montana and Spiderman, my kids are always playing "Harry Potter." My son pretends to be Harry Potter and my daughter plays Hermione Granger :) We are so excited to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!!!!!

This is a wonderful series, and it is so great for us to have such a great bit of literature for youth/adults to anticipate and enjoy.....it's all good!

Thanks for the tickets!!!

Ginny Weasley is my favorite! Even thought she is the youngest of six brothers she can still stand up for herself. And she marries Harry((:

Nice! I'm fairly new to Fresno (Clovis) and just started reading the Bee/Beehive.

I'd have to say Harry is my favorite...

I would agree. Read the books! I just re-read 6 and 7 so it would be fresh prior to seeing the movie. I will say my least favorite character in the movies is Dobby. I do think they did a very good job casting and creating Voldemort in the movie. Personal favorite character is.... Ginny for spunk.

If it gets just 150 more comments, then yes. Crazy.

I love Dumbledore!
He is so mysterious and
likes Harry!
I hope i win!

Ok, so who's going to the 2010 opening of The Harry Potter theme park in Orlando! I'll be there proudly wearing my Slytherin scarf!

Harry Potter is so cool!
He is so humble. I wish
he would of chosen Hermione
instead of Ginny though...

Ginny Weasley is so awesome!
I love how she is the
toughest in her family
but she is the youngest
also. Go Ginny!

Seriously!! I totally agree with you Emmy Girl! Everyone loves Hermione because she is a good strong female character...but I think that Ginny is even better! She comes from a poverty stricken home, with several brothers who tend to get a lot of attention. Yet her Bat-Bogey Hex out-trumps any of her brothers magic abilities. PLUS she's a pretty good seeker. She does things that would not be expected of her, despite the fact that she is a girl. :) shes just plain awesome.

I love most of the characters but one of my favorites are the twins Fred and George. They are so funny and interesting and get into so much trouble. I also love Snape there's just so much more too him than we generally get to see.

I have a few favorites from the movies and books. Even as an adult the characters are great role models for kids. Harry meets his challenges with full force. He gives it his all. Because he realizes if he tries hard he will succeed one way or another. Hermione is great because she is a role model also to you women to keep striving for what is best for her. Meet challenges as them come and do your best to overcome them. And of course the teachers are all great because the kids really have to work at their studies and be disipline about who they will become. I really like how Harry and his friends, Hermione, Ron and the rest stick together to help each other succeed. Albus Dumbledore is a great person helping keept the kids on the right track without smoothing them. And of course J.K. Rowling is a great writer to come up with these stories and stretch the minds of kids. It helped improve my sons reading level when he was young. Can't wait to see the movies.

Hagrid!

He will always have Harry's back.
Hagrid has a good heart and is loyal.

Ron Weasley is probably my most favorite, because he's so stinkin funny, but actually, to pick a favorite is like asking someone to pick their favorite person in their family. You just can't do it because you love them all differently, and for different reasons. And Harry and Company are like family, and that's what made the end of the series so so hard to take. I cried. and I felt genuine sadness. And I still miss them. I'm so excited for the movie!

I'm so excited about the movie that I watched the new TV Series "Merlin" just to see the extended Harry Potter "Trailer" advertised with the show. (By the way...Merlin is excellent, particularly if you're a Harry Potter fan.)

Snape intrigues me...and to be honest could only rely on Dumbledore testimony that he was a former Death Eater.

My favorite character has to be Snape - he is the most complex, intriguing and relatably human character in the Harry Potter saga. He is motivated by love and by loyalty, and he is braver than most, but he is still flawed - we see that every millisecond in his treatment of Harry. Snape proves that you can't easily judge people though, and he is also is an outstanding example of how love can triumph over evil (take that, Voldemort!) even when evil is so tempting.

My daughter and I have waited so long for this. It's our last big mother/daughter event before she leaves to study abroad for a year! We are so excited!!!!

the whole series was a delight.
the inclusion of mythical creatures help flesh out the world.
the relationship between Dumbledor & harry Really got a good build up and it was sad to see dubledor die in order to sacrafice himself.
i also was disapointed when siris died and of course harry always has to bea the insurmountable odds since he is he title character.
The films have been as true as posible to the books and the castings has been great.

Hello everyone!!

I think i'm finding out about this contest kinda late but I would have to say that my favorite character from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince would have to be Ginny Weasley or Snape. Simply because J.K. portrays the humanity of Snape in this book. We learn that there is more to him than meets the eye. And Ginny has always been my favorite because I was always rooting for her and Harry to pair up :D They look like James and Lily together :)) its perfect!!

I love the whole Weasley family. The parents are down to earth, not your rich snobby family, and genuinely concerned for each other and the wizzarding world. Yet they can stand up for themselves when they need to, they can get aggressive when defending their family or friends. The kids are all wonderful kids, especially the twins. They have always been my favorites. Their comedic exchanges lighten up the mood.

My favorite is Sirius. Of course being charged as a murderer when you are innocent was sad. But I love the way how he suddenly came into Harry's life and still cared about him so much. The first time I read the Order of the Phoenix I cried when Sirius died because I didn't want him to go. But of course, he died for Harry..

My favorite is Hermione, I seem to feel a connection to her.

I'm surprised....there's not that much love for Dumbeldore!! This book was my favorite of the series because of how much he is in it.

Fresno Bee is AWESOME for doing this contest. There are a lot of people out there who can't afford to go to a movie now days, especially with a family of 4. It's almost $50 just to see the movie.

We live 100 miles away. We'd go. In an instant. My sons were finally not afraid of Harry Potter, and just this year started reading him. The oldest is on book 4, the youngest on book 2.

This would be awesome!

Wow. That is far to come to see this movie.

My favorite character is Sirius Black. Just like Harry his life has been tragic. Both were affected by the murder of James and Lily Potter, both trapped and oppressed by their immediate environment (the Dursley's and Azkaban)and both targeted as bad people by the Daily Prophet despite their unparalleled greatness. His yearning for freedom is at once saddening and invigorating. His death both a tragedy and a celebration for his joyful release from a society that shunned and controlled him. To Sirius Black!

My favorite character is Ron's owl. He is hilarious. The best thing about Ron's owl is that he gets paid in mice and probably doesn't have too many requests/demands in his trailer. I just think that he really made the most of his scenes in the first movie. Great actor, really made me believe he was visually impaired.

My daughter enjoys Harry Potter stories. She read all of the books four times and watched the movies. We are planning to watch the movie for our celebration of both of our birthdays. My daughter enjoys the character Harry and she has a birthday in common with the actor who plays as Harry.

My favorite character from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is Hermione. My favorite part is when she takes McLaggen to Slughorn's Christmas party.

All the characters are amazing.

My favorite characters would be Ron and Sirius and Fred and George....
its hard to pick one.

Ron is so funny and a dork and he's grown but he's always been loyal and trusting.

Sirius was such a good father figure and added to the books well and helped Harry grow and even kind of get to know his dad through Sirius

Fred and George are really funny, smart, yet nice because they know where to draw the line in being funny. They've also stuck through the books

I love this series

| Reply

Also Dumbledore because he is quirky and always been there for Harry. He helped Harry grow and understand his destiny as well as the other characters did for Harry.

Lupin as well

Oh! Tonks! I love her saying "Wotcher, Harry"

Malfoy has also added to it..

I'm sorry, they're all great

Fred and George all the way!!!! Those two are insane, it's awesome!!

My favorite characters have to be Fred and George Weasley! I love their humor! My favorite quote is the poster they put on their store front, "Worried about You Know Who? You should be worried about You No Poo!"...hahahaha...classic!

Ginny Weasley is also one of my favorites!! After reading the Chamber of Secrets I knew they were going to hook up, eventually!! I just had this feeling!!

My wife is addicted to these books!! She read the last one in 3 days!! I had always just watched the movies with her, but she got me to read "Half Blooded Prince". I'm excited to see the movie, she says the books are always better but the movies are still really good. I hope I win, I would love to surprise her and tell her we're seeing some other movie and then see HP6.

Hello again!!

Actually! I forgot to mention...I think Slughorn is pretty halarious. I like the part at his party, where he invites Sanguini the vampire, and Luna entertains everyone with her bizarre knowledge. Haha they are a pretty funny bunch. Yep, just forgot to mention them. I think Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, as well as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, were J.K.'s most creative. I only hope they did the book justice in the movie!!

I love harry potter! my big sisters got me into the books! my favorite one is harry! because he is cute and he always saves the day.

My daughters wanted me to write their favorite. They both like Ron. They think he's funny and he's a great friend to Harry. They've seen all the movies. My oldest is currently reading the "Goblet of Fire".

I love the part when Ron has two girls argueing over him exspeacialy when one girl is his friend Hermoine. I also love it when hes talking to Harry and says that the girls are going to kill him. To me it just shows that I was right for telling my mom that Ron is cute and funny becuase girls are attracted to him just as they are to Harry.

I don't really have a favorite character.
I have been a Harry Potter fan since the books came out. I have every book and every movie, and I am sad there are no more books, for now at least. I am really looking forward to the movie!

| Reply

My favorite character in the Half-Blood Prince is Snape because he kills Dumbledore. FYI, i hated the new guy that plays Dumbledore. But it also adds a twist because Harry relies on him and goes to him for help, but now he has to either fund someone else to go to with that knowledge or he has to start figuring things out himself.

My son is 12 years old. He was diagnosed with Autism at age three. Just last year, he became very interested in watching and reading the Harry Potter movies and books. He is very excited about watching the Half-Blood Prince and has marked July 15 as the day the movie will come out. It would be a huge gift to my son if I were able to take him on July 13. Last October, my son choose to dress up as Harry. That was the first time he independently picked which character he wanted to be.

My favorite character is Dumbledore. He
is such a thoughtful, considerate, and caring person.

Hermione is awesome!!!
I think im a lot like her
she's super smart
And good in all that she does that learning/book related

I am so excited about possibly getting the chance to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince before it hits theaters. I have been counting down the days for this movie to come out. I have read all the books and I own all the movies. I am a HUGE fan. My favorite character is Hermione. She is close friends with Harry and always uses her quick wit and encyclopaedic knowledge to help Harry and Ron. She is levelheaded, book-smart and is very good with logic. Please pick me!!

Harry Potter is my favorite character. You gotta love the Weasely twins though. They bring so much humor to the series.

I love Snape! Excuse me, that's "Professor Snape" - he is just so deliciously evil how can you not love him.

| Reply

My daughter's favorite character is Hermione Granger. She aspires to be like her - studious, confident, witty, and level-headed. Plus, she thinks Hermione is "sooo beautiful." :)

I like Albus Dumbledore because he reminds me of Gandolf. Wizards ROCK!!!

TONKS! GOTTA LOVE TONKS! With a first name like Nymphadora, you can't go wrong.

I may not win doing it this way but I like the trio. Hermione, Ron, and Harry and the reason why is together they are unbeatable in all aspects. Harry with the power, Hermione with the smarts and Ron with the tactical knowledge. One of them alone couldn't have done what they all did as a group. When you have the trio together they are unbeatable in many aspects. My family has all the books in hard back and paper back. We also have all the movies and will get this one when it comes out.

GOOD EVENING! =)

My favorite character ever in the Harry Potter series is Cedric Diggory. I absolutely love him. I was so crushed when he had to die :( Also, I loved it that Rob Pattinson played him :) I love Rob and he was the perfect cast for the character! He played him so well. Cedric FTW!

HARRY POTTER…
He is a perfect depiction of a
True
Loyal
Trustworthy Friend

He reminds me of my relationship with my best friend
He is always there for the one’s he loves till the end..
I admire Harry’s character in this book, because even when times get tough he doesn’t give up without a fight..he perseveres through all the curve balls life throws at him ( or shall I say quidditch balls)…& while I was reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, I let my imagination run free and illustrated every scene in my mind…

Oh, well, I just love those Weasleys - all of them! The family dynamics between the brothers & Ginny & the dad's endearing muggle hobbies & the way they all protect Harry like a brother - I just love those Weasleys! (Wow, its been a long time since I actually read the books, I hope I spelled muggle right...)

My favorite Harry Potter character is Dobby. House-elves are sooo cute. But I love Dobby because he likes his freedom, and will still stand up for what he believes in even though the other house-elves don't like him becsaue of it.

I'm really eager to see this movie, but also a little worried. The books get more and more complex plot-wise, but the movies aren't getting longer! It's going to be tough to keep things close story-wise, but I'll still see it - I've seen all the others!

Throughout the series, my favorite character has been Severus Snape. You never know what his motives are until the end. He is so mysterious and sinister. I can't wait to see this movie!

Hello,
I personally do not have a favorate character. What I look forward to is the world we are taken to sitting in front of that big screen. We are transported into another reality. Harry Potters adventure becomes our opportunity for imagination. We find ourselves being a part of the story and the venture along side Harry, Ron and Hermione. Its a blast!!! Im looking forward to my visit to Hogwarts.

Forgot to post the second part. My favorite characters are Harry, Hermione, Dobby, Bellatrix, Sirius, Dumbledor, and Servius Snape. Each of theses characters have complex stories that are all equally amazing. Harry was amazing and has been amazing through each book cause as Dumbledor says he has taken on more than any other grown wizards have. Hermione is amazing all together smart, loyal, dedicated, and strong. Dobby went against his nasty masters and tried to protect harry and lost his life for him :( Bellatrix although she kills Sirius she is amazing at the dark arts. Sirius and Servius both are along the same lines for me. They go to protect harry and lose their lives doing so. Along with that they both were thought to be bad and ended up with the best ideas in mind, Dumbledor is just genius!!! He makes the world go round and I know I am going to cry when he is killed at the end of this movie. Also Twellanry (sorry if I butchered her name) but she is just to cute in the movies.

Did I forget to mention Ginny?

Other than Harry, Snape is my favorite because all through the series you never really can quite tell his intentions towards Harry and where he stands- either with the Dark Lord or behind Harry. His character is so enigmatic, you want to hate him, but end up loving him and it is just this book/movie that really makes you question Snape's loyalties. Go HARRY POTTER!

Severus Snape. I very well may just re-read the entire series (again) just because of Snivellus. And Alan Rickman's portrayal is perfect - every time I see him on HP, his delivery is bloody brilliant.

Or wait. It might be Sirius Black. I could kill Bellatrix myself, except... that cackle of hers is frickin' wicked!

But how can I forget the original trio? Ron, Hermione and Harry Potter himself? Or Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood, of course!!

No, wait. Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall. Yes.

*gasp* Mr. and Mrs. Weasley!! I can't leave out Harry's surrogate parents?!!

Forget it. I could go on and on and on. Thank goodness you didn't ask for our ONE favorite character - I'd be stuck like potato chips. You can't have just one. ;)

My favorite actor is Hagrid because he is fun to be around sometimes and others he is serious. His classes sound fun to attend but all the trouble is caused by the children and not him. Everyone blames him for that trouble. His class would be fun to be in because he brings out all these cool sounding animals. I really enjoyed the series and so far am enjoying the movies and am entering this to win a ticket to go watch the new movie. I can't wait!

I personally think that the best character is Ginny Weasley. It is awesome that somehow she go onto the Quidditch team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) :) :) :) :)

I'm glad to see that so many folks picked Lupin! After Black died in OotP, Lupin became my favorite "adult character." He grew so much within the last book and I appreciated the fact that she wrote a book where you could see the struggles that an adult character faced.

I still adore Ron, though.....he's just a klutz!

Ron Weasly!!!!
I felt really bad for him and connected with him in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
When he made the comment about being poor and not being able to afford new items as well as nice items, I was connected to him and admired him. I feel the same at times and looking at to how he got through it by pushing it aside and pursuing to help Harry through his ordeal. He is a good friend

Luna effing Lovegood.
I can not believe that I forgot to mention her.
FIrst off her character in the movie is freaking hilarious. She makes me smile as well as laugh,
As well as being amazing in the movies she is amazing in the books. She is still funny as well. When they first actually introduce her and don't mention her I smile. she is hilarious in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
To go along with being funny she proves to be an amazing friend to Harry and helps him out a lot.

I love Hagrid soo much. He is so kind and thoughtful. It's sad that people don't like him because he is a half giant. But he is the nicest person ever. And the most interesting Care of Magical Creatures teacher!

My favorite character is Tonks. Its soo cool that shes a Metamorphmangus. She's so funny and its cute that she fancies Lupin. (Who is awesome tooo!)

I really cant wait till the movie comes out on DVD to see my spicy little red head, Ron.
I feel it is completely necessary for me to be there for Rupert Grint during his battle with Swine Flu. PLease help me to help him . !!!

I love Harry, Ron and Hermione the best but I pretty much like all of the main characters that were in the DA :)

I like the female characters in the book. They are all trying to use love potions on Harry. I like what happens to Ron.

Harry Potter is such a complex but believable character around whom a whole world now revolves. Of course he's my favorite! Thank you, Ms. Rowling, for giving generations of fans a role model who can remain loyal, brave, and loving despite all the obstacles he must overcome in his journey to win his battles over evil...

I came late to Harry Potter’s world. My father died in November of 2006 and I really needed a diversion. I had bought books one and four at the drug store, without any understanding of sequence or storyline. Fortunately, I read book one first, and I was hooked. The next morning I bought the others and read them, in order, several times. I was soothed by J.K. Rowling's characters, and, emotionally, there was serendipity and a parallel to Harry and his world, with mine; to his loss and uncertainty. Not only are J.K. Rowling's tales engaging and wonderfully entertaining, they’re cathartic. Healing. I was saved by Harry Potter, and transported into a wonderful world of rich, fully-formed characters and incredible lessons about courage, right and wrong, love and loyalty and friendship, and so much more. I can see why the series is such a huge success. Rowling is a magician in her own right, and deserves every bit of success that she's received. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Jenny, the twins and the others feel like friends to me -- and Hedwig and Cruikshanks, et al. -- more real than fictional characters. Well done. I can’t wait to see “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” which is my second favorite of the seven books.

I love all the Harry Potter books, have 2 sets of them, plus a couple of extras. I just realized that a young red-headed boy I know started combing his hair just like Ron, the first time he was taken to see the show! I hate Ron's hair style! Oh well, lol.
