Tickets for the concert are scheduled to go on sale at 10 a.m. June 13, according to the Save Mart Center. All tickets cost $91.25. It'll be the band's first Fresno show in close to 30 years.

All tickets cost $91.25? Do the promoters know that money is kinda tight right now? I'm not blaming the band, but this is just stupid.

Having the same (expensive) price for floor as nose bleed makes no sense. I'm curious how many people are going to actually go to this?

Don't be such a tight ass. It's the first time in 30 years. I hate people who use the economy to account for their poor financial planning.

Who'd go? About 15,000 people. Without a doubt It'll sell out.

yeah motha f*****s ac dc rocks my nuts
from a white guy and a mexican

Yet another band out of touch with reality!! Promoter's fault or band's fault that the tickets are $91.25, doesn't matter. It reflects poorly on the band!

...the General just got put into bankruptcy, Chrysler is now owned by an Italian Firm that hasn't had a US dealership in 25 years, and Pontiac doesn't exist any more...

-'n tickets to this are going for a C note???

Metal is in a bad state, y'all.

ACDC is not setting the ticket amounts, the promoters are crontrolling the prices. Wait until all the ticket companies buy out all the tickets and charge $250.00 for nose bleeds.

Dirty deeds don't come cheap!

'...it's not the band, it's the promoters...'

ahuh.
--well the promoters sure knew what they were doing when AC/DC's most recent (and not strongest) album (which this tour is for.) premiered:
-at freakin' Wal-Mart.

Now think:
is the average Wal-Mart Shopper (obviously targeted, (no pun intended)
-going to be able to afford tickets starting at nearly a hundred bucks?

-less than a couple of years ago, 'Jack' (RIP) put on ZZTop, Pretenders, and Stray Cats (who all put on very FULL sets
--and had a ton of promo tix going for as low as 10.00 (with a full range of seats and prices -and a good time was had by all, (and it was pretty packed.)

Starting price at a hundred bucks? (and no lower cost seats available?
During a season where folks can barely afford a pay toilet?
Is just gouging and disrespectful to the fans of a band that has always been 'all about blue/no collar.'

I'd drop 30 to 60 (maybe) and catch 'okay' seats just to hear them live, (jumbo trons and house-sound etc.)
-'cause these guys are great band that has never given up, who I've listened to for thirty years...
(And if something bad were to happen, (or) they break up, ('nd I passed this 'big' chance?)
I'd be bummed, sure,
-but pretty clear on the facts:
'...they were a great band, but boy they got greedy in the end...'

-Mr. Young:
Enjoy your stay Sir, and seriously: thanks for all great licks, but I have other things to do with a Hundred, -sorry, maybe next time.

This show WILL NOT sell out.
IT WON'T!!!
There arent enough Heshers in Fresno to sell this gig out.
NO WAY, NO HOW!
Not even if the tickets were half that price.
It won't sell out.

"not enough Heshers" (laughing)
But I think we *are* on the tourist map as an official Hessian Homeland county!

My son and I paid 40-something ( ok, with the 'hidden costs' it jacked it up to almost 60)for Green Day tickets---and there was a cheaper ticket (maybe 10 bucks less). Looking forward to that concert later this summer.

Ok, it *was* 40+ years ago when bands like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones were charging 4 or 5 dollars a ticket---but even with inflation....can you account for seeing a McCartney or Stones concert costing nearly 200 dollars a throw?
Something's goofy I think.

(Blake)

out of curiosity.
How much did you drop to see the 'Who'?

(Others)
-'No Doubt' ?

and I think 'GeezeFest' downtown (Dylan, Nelson, Mellencamp)
is going for somethng like... 60 or 65?
(byo-reefer)

--re: cost of The Who show from a couple few years back at SaveMart:

To tell the truth, I can't remember the exact amount. It was a hellaciously large number, in part, because the whole four of us Joneses went.
I want to say it was in the neighborhood of 250 dollars?--which would make it..around 60 or so bucks a piece(counting those hidden computer/ticketmaster charges).
I could be remembering it wrong. It may have been a little more....??

I spoke with some friends last night who'd also went to the Who concert---they seemed to remember the tickets were more in the 90 dollar range.
--this would explain why I remember going back and forth about whether we were going to attend. In the end, I held my breath and pressed 'enter' on the keyboard. I'm glad we went.

...see

that's what I'm sort of wondering about here...

I mean, (okay) (sorta-finally) Fresno is getting 'big name acts,' at the Save-Mart.

---but (according to documented history)

Fresno has always gotten big names
--since the 30's (Mebbie not on a Weekend Night,
--but I have a Count Bassie in Fresno in late '58... (and) not that long ago bands like the Police were playing down at the Ratcliff...

I betcha the tickets were pro-rated all along, too, (which was smart.)

-Are we paying higher amounts because it's easier than making the schlepp all the way to SF or LA to see something 'big'
(can you imagine U2 playing here?)
-Even a Re-United Genesis with Peter Gabriel?
(you really wanna see something funny, put Radiohead on opposite the Clovis Rodeo... (I bet 10 people would show up,
--with 3000 from out of town clogging the freeways.)

I'm not saying AC/DC doesn't have a crowd here... I'd love to see them live,
--but at the same time, I'm NOT going to plunk down that much to see them
(...I would totally think of doing such for U2 or Genesis (or) Gabriel (solo) show, if they were within an hour or two of here.)

This is a strong market for 70-80-90's bands,
-but it has to be presented in context...
(I mean, TRIBUTE bands hit the tower and folks buy tickets, so clearly if the real thing came through...)

It just seems more respectful to lob that price by half,(at least)
Truly sell out to folks who would go because it would be cool, but not a religious event,
-and have the tickets go higher for better seating, (you know there's gonna be guys showing up dressed in English Schoolboy Uniforms who have to stand in the first two rows playng air guitar,,, let THEM pay the steep stuff -they're not gonna mind a bit.)

I think (at least until the economy improves) promoters are going to have to chill out a bit and catch more flys on the wall with honey (instead of) very expensive vinegar.

They drop their prices significantly?
I bet they could add extra shows AND sell out.

All I know is that there's a LOT of money involved in putting on an AC/DC tour, and these people know what they're doing as far as pricing goes.

Van Halen was about 70 bucks for the cheaper seats. AC/DC is bigger than that, has toured more regularly and with better reviews, and has much more of a high-production factor. Like it or not, $90 is reasonable and I bet the crowd will be just as big as, if not bigger than, that Van Halen show.

I'm not going, but it only takes about 15,000 people to fill up the place.

The show will definitely sell out. 100 bucks a ticket is a good price if you ask me. I bought 14 tickets combined for all of the shows here in California and may buy a few more for the Fresno show. I can't wait until they get back to the U.S.

Dude are you serious i will not eat this month so I can buy me and my 13 year old son tickets to go to this concert i heard when they came to fresno the first time they were booed off stage
and ac/dc mooned the crowd but they are back
and i'm so happy

Hey Boyz.....what I want to know....is who's opening for ACDC???

$100 is a bargain for AC/DC.
You will not have a better night out all year long.
They give you $300 worth of effort and put on a helluva show.

$250 to see U2.
$250 for Madonna.

AC/DC is a bargain.

you guys sure are a bunch of squares. that concert was packed to the roof. if you didnt go you missed out. 100 bucks is nothing especially since you will never get to see them again. sucks for you guys that didnt go. one of the best concerts ive seen in a long time
