Since we want you to love the Fresno music scene even more, we're teaming with local acts to give you 100%-free-of-charge music in a feature we're calling Sounds of the City.
We'll start with Americana/rockabilly band Motel Drive, which is putting out its debut CD, "$5 Tricks." The band is this week's Artist You Should Know in The Bee and is playing twice this week. Fliers below for those. Right now, here's my favorite song of Motel Drive's "Drifter Blues."

Man, if you missed the Kountry Kittens, you missed something awesome!! A couple of the ladies joined us on stage for our set and go-go danced the night away. Good times!
Thanks for the great press, Mike!
Motel Drive! Now that's some serious good rockin' music. The set I saw in YoshiNow!'s parking lot was MORE than convincing. These folks rock--and both git-tar players are smokin'!
Thanks to Mr. Oz, The Bee, YoshiNow AND mostly, of course, to Motel Drive!

These guys are amazing!!! The central valley has been waiting for an act like this one. Each player is an all-star on his own but together they create an event that can not be missed. Download the free song from this site then get your butt up and buy a copy of there CD! You will not regret it!

Motel Drive is (in my opinion) the best local band in the Central Valley. They always put on an entertaining show, so a great time is guaranteed for all. Definitely buy their CD; for $5 you can't go wrong and EVERY song on it rocks!
Thanks for the tune guys! I really liked the dynamic range and the stucture of the tune. The backing vocals in the chorus are a very nice touch. Brilliant job!
Thanks for your comment Ron. It's always nice when someone notices the smaller details of a song. Hope to see you at a show sometime.

This band changed my life. Before Motel Drive I was a plain Jane wallflower. Now, I'm a hell bent hot rod sex kitten who cant stop shaking what my mama gave me. I love that front man JD Goodwin and the way he plays that Big Ol Gretsch. The band aint nothing to shake a stick at either. I highly recommend going to one of their shows!! Your ears will thank you for it.
