We've been chronicling the rise of local rapper Fashawn for some time -- and each time things keep getting bigger. When we last saw him, he was performing in NYC with The Roots, now he's making more moves:
- From May 11-25 he'll be touring in Europe with Evidence and Alchemist.
- This summer he'll play at the annual hip-hop festival Rock the Bells. There he'll be with Evidence and Alchemist as well. He'll be doing dates June 26-Aug. 9.
- He'll be featured in the June issue of XXL Magazine - the biggest hip-hop mag -- in the "Show & Prove" section that highlights breaking talent.
- His debut album, "Boy Meets World," a collaboration with producer Exile (of Blu & Exile) is slated to drop Aug. 18. He should be doing some sort of U.S. tour around that time as well.

that's a really well-done live performance photo.
hey! that's what i said as soon as i saw this post!
I already knew he was headin for big thangs, fash is one of the most humble, down to earth dude is on point like a javelin am callin rite now Boy Meets World is gonna be a classic west coast album
this n****a is wack! he raps skater music.boy meets world sounds like a f*****t coming out of the closet.the city is not impressed with this kid.we respect real rappers like killa tay and planet asia.this is some old bull**** music happy ass songs get the f*** out of here with this gary coleman ass n**** he got short ass arms! and a scarecrow button up.n**** looks like a f*****ng nerd ha ha
T MACK IS RIGHT. dude is wack
They have computers on the west side of Fresno? You just blew my mind.
hey "t-mack"
why dont you acknowledge some home grown talent for once.
fashawn is doing big things on the music scene.
Im just guessing youre hating on him because youre so called rap career went down the drain 5 minutes in.
Fashawn is making the bigs, so respect that, dont put him on blast. Do what real men and real rappers do, respect the game and each other.
This is really great stuff!!
fash is dope. i heard his music as soon as i moved here and have been hooked ever since. its natural talent and frankly he works hard for the shine he's receiving. i applaud him and his accomplishments. i'll be one of surely many to grab BMW when it drops this summer.
mike oz, keep repping it right bro.
hey "angel" you sound like a female! see me at the corner of marthin luther & c. i will show you how to respect.im keeping it real! you must be one of these skaters that hes rapping for.i aint no rapper ask about me in the west side im a real figga out here.this n**** is g**! he looks weird and his music is for f***.the city dont support this nerd or any of his music.big things? cause he rapping with some f***** ass rappers? you need to go to sleep angel you a female my n****!
tmack is right. fashawn must suck. i mean, it's not like the roots know anything about hip hop. or xxl. or the rock the bells tour.
all those wack hip hop sources should focus on real rappers. especially those with longer arms.
Bwahahahaha!!! Ed... you are the bestest! :)
Listen, I'm so white you can show movies on my backside, and I know pretty much nothing about rap.
What I can contribute to this thread is that Fashawn fills the club wherever he performs. I have spoken to him and he's the nicest guy ever, signing autographs willingly. He clearly isn't taking one moment of this ride for granted.
What I like about him is that he doesn't put on the whole "Hey, get off me, I'm an artist! Gangsta blahblah."
I also notice that T-Mack, who clearly DOES know rap, had nothing to say about Fashawn's music except to call him 'Boy Meets World,' a career most would love. Oh, he also says Fashawn does 'happy ass songs.' I've heard 'One Shot, One Kill,' and can't call it a happy ass anything.
Sorry, T-Mack, but the numbers don't lie. Fashawn is climbing the ladder up, and crowds in Fresno (who you claim aren't impressed) keep showing up in droves.
I wish this great young man much much luck and success in the business.
Long Armed Rappers FTW!
T-Wack is just jealous. Plain and simple.
He can call names all he wants but the bottom line is he's standing in the back of the line and no ones got time for his busted a$$ rhymes!
See what I did right there!
I think I'm gonna see about opening for Fashawn!
word...........
Dam, didn't know this site had hardcore rappers on it. Fashawn is "OK" at best. But i respect his hussle
Bottom line is he's getting out there and making something for himself... respect!
thanks for the support mike and everyone on here.
t mack is speaking his opinion which is fine. not everybody is happy with the situation there in so they choose to bring others they see doing positive things down with them. that's just the way life is. anyone who knows fashawn or listens to his music knows who he is. any rapper who listens to him knows he is a phenomenal songwriter and lyricist. he's being himself which is rare in these days of music. being humble, working hard and having talent is not a combination everyone has. because of that the world is recognizing who he is.
thanks again for the love and support. see you all in june. another week just got added on the european tour.
if you want to see video from the tour you can catch it on here and other blogs on the net.
