It's another Much Ado About Thursday -- you know, the first Thursday of the month, when ArtHop undoubtedly collides with many other local happenings, resulting in an abundance of things to do. Here's a rundown. Feel free to add anything I missed or shout out what you're doing in the comments.
ARTHOP: You all know what the first Thursday of the month means -- hopping art galleries in the Tower and downtown. Here's a graphic sampling of what's going on. You can get more ArtHop options here. We'd love to hear some of your recommendations.
SHAMELESS: I'm droppin' fresh tunes over at Hero's tonight as part of an ArtHop event showcasing local photographers. Super Lucky Catz will also be performing. I'm playing 5-7 p.m. Expect Santogold, MGMT, Matt & Kim, Peter Bjorn & John, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, stuff like that.
ROCKIN': Elsewhere there are some live music options:
- As we talked about yesterday, The Used is playing at Crest Theatre.
- The B-52s are playing up at Table Mountain for all your Rock Lobsters. But it's sold out.
- Post ArtHop at Tokyo Garden brings together L.A.'s Go West Young Man, Fresno's own Love Pollution and Seattle's By Sunlight.
- Gary Hoey and Craig Chaquico play a "Stars of Guitar" concert at Orange Blossom Junction in Exeter.
- Finally, here's a cool bill at Club Fred:
THE CLUBS: From the usual Thursday night booty-shakin', to a magazine launch party to some pre-Spring Break partying ... here's what's up:

YAY FOR SUGARBABY!!!
Thanks for the plug, Mike!!!
I'll try to sneak away from stage-mom duty to check out your set!
We will be going to Table Mountain Casino for the B-52s concert.
I'm going up the hill to see the B-52's and maybe drop a few coins in the slots.
B-52's at Table Mountain, baby! Cuz they're just plain fun, and who doesn't need a little fun in times like these!
yay for my cow, 2 shows one night!
unfortunately i have practice, but was planning on Audie's after...
For those who reside North side too cheap for taxies and without a sober ride in sight, walk over to Yosemite Ranch.
Clouded Vision is playing a free show tonight 18+
For a true night of culture I have the following planned:
1) Broadway to catch the Art|Design Show
2) Maybe Tokyo for some tunes
3) Fast & Furious midnight showing (there's a little d-bag in all of us)
This super loud ear-bustin' punk band will also be playing at Tokyo tonight, if y'all are not cozy in bed by the time they take the stage.
Does anyone know what time the fire dancers start at DCAC?
As one of those individual visual artists still trying to make a living . . . I'm at Ashtree Studios tonight from 5-9pm with an exhibit of my artwork. I wish everyone who's hosting anything good luck tonight and here's hoping we all get big crowds (and maybe even some paying customers?!)
The dancers start at 5pm
I'm playing a free acoustic set at 5:30 at the Kingsburg Library---it's an event for the Friends of the Library and involves other performances during the afternoon and evening.
