This is where the economy has taken us

tipjarheels.jpg

UPDATE: Oh hell yeah. Now with video. See below.

ORIGINAL: I'm sick of hearing in news stories about how bad the economy is, as I'm sure you probably are, too.

That is, unless the story involves pissed-off strippers beating each other with shoes.

From the Associated Press:

AKRON, Ohio - A 52-year-old woman was attacked on her first day as an exotic dancer by a jealous co-worker wielding a stiletto heel, police said.

Akron police ... said the woman was assailed Friday night by a co-worker who didn't think the club needed more dancers.

Five bucks says VH1 producers are already on a plane to Akron to cast these gems for the next Bret Michaels offering: "Rock of Love Retirement Village."

Video after the jump!

"That turned out to be H-E-double-L."

I kinda love Jo Ellen Nolan, and I'm sorry she got hit in the head with a stripper shoe. Still a great story, though.

Alternative ending for this post, changed because I thought no one would get it but me:

"I knew it. I knew Ashley would get her revenge on Taya eventually."

LMAO... wow... a 52 year old stripper??

ha!! No actually it was Mindy who got her revenge on Taya!!!

Did you guys watch the reunion special Sunday night? It was hella weak, but if you click the link I used for Bret's name above, it takes you to a story from a VH1 blogger who was backstage.

The story is ten times more fascinating than the special itself was -- I seriously zoned out for a good twenty minutes yesterday reading it.

Thank you Heather for that link! It was great AND killed like 15 minutes at work!

I'm sad to admit that my boyfriend has me stuck on VH1 reality trash!!! I am totally addicted and it makes me feel shame.
BUT knowing you and many others share this horrid desire to watch messy, slutty, pretty girls fight for an even sluttier but prettier man makes the shame worthwhile!

Heather, I totally agree with your not wanting to hear about the economy. I am about sick of it myself. However, one thing to keep in mind is just like the wars going on in Iraq and Afghanistan -- people are dying over there and will continue to die until they're brought home. So, while I don't want to hear about the wars really -- I don't want to personally or have anybody else forget -- we have human beings over there fighting and being killed. Can't for that.

Same is true for the economy. You and I are lucky enough to have a job -- and while I can't speak for you or Mike Oz -- you both show an appearance to love your job, enjoy your job, and hopefully make decent $$ doing it. Many others only wish they even HAD a job -- let alone enjoy it like you and I do.

Another important reason that even though we're tired of hearing about Iraq, Afghanistan, and the crap economy -- we still have real people being affected every day and until that changes, it really should be mentioned daily if only to remind us lucky ones that we're damn lucky to have our jobs...

I can't get past the "52-year-old" stripper.

I like to think she's a former bank manager with two grandchildren who had to take a recession job.

I'd like to think this is her lifelong dream. That she has always wanted to do this and currently lives at home alone with her Cat waiting for Simon to discover her.

Ooh, lifelong dream. Yeah, your scenario is better.
