UPDATE: We've been moded. Ed Stewart chomped the competition and won the Megazone challenge. Not only that, but he already blogged about it.
ORIGINAL: If you don't read the blogs, you might not have heard yet about the Megazone challenge happening at 5 p.m. tomorrow at Milano.
The Megazone (pictured) is a calzone, just mega-sized by Milano to more than two pounds.
Competing to see who can down one the quickest: Famous Whitewater, The Fresnan, Ed Stewart and Ms. Joey aka Lola La Chola.
The smack talk has started up and we at The Beehive feel the need to officially endorse a candidate in this battle. Ed Stewart is saying he "will not lose," but we think he said that about Blogger Olympics last year too. Blogger Olympics also showed that The Fresnan can show up and do well, or he could also suck. So we're not betting on him.
Famous is our family, and he's the littlest in the competition, which has us thinking he has a good chance to be the darkhorse. But, in the end, we're going with the person we believe is the toughest, and that's ex-Smog City Roller Grrl Lola La Chola.
No one will win that challenge.
Did you not see the guys who like to eat? That calzone was too huge for them, and they'll eat anything!
I hope it's just a 'who can eat the most in 10 minutes' kind of thing. The thought of Famous puking all over the lovely walls of Milano is too much to bear.

I don't know, it's always the little guys that can put away the foods so I'm kinda leaning towards Famous on taking the title this Saturday but an upset would be awesome. Hopefully we won't lose any bloggers this weekend to the gluttony, Yoshi's Island style!
Do NOT do this... any of you. The only promised conclusion will be pain and discomfort, with the possibility of an ambulance trip. The Milano's MEGAzone is intended to feed a family of 8.
Here's what I propose instead; go to the Milano, order a standard calzone (which are on par with the calzones that BC Pizza in Clovis serve), eat half of it (slowly), take the other half home for tomorrow. Viola! Hazard avoided. No puking, no waste of food, no futile disappointment.. a great evening if you ask me.

Have you ever noticed how all the winners of those hot dog eating contests are pretty small? I read about the science behind it once - they have less abdominal fat so their tummies can stretch out further and hold more and not be constrained by fat.

i'm trying to remember where, and i can't find them, but i know i've seen pictures of the brave souls that have finished the megazone. i think there were about 10. i checked milano's myspace, and the owner's facebook, and can't quite find them.

my winning time was just over 35 minutes. (i think that's what kendall said. i'll admit i was in a bit of a haze after finishing.)
