Dear Ugh-wearing fashionistas,
I know Ughs are, ahem, a cool trend and you feel hip wearing those soft, furry boots. But does it really make sense to don footwear that keeps your feet warm in 30-below weather when it's 80 degrees outside?
Let's put it this way: If it is warm enough to wear that tank sun dress you had on Saturday afternoon while shopping in Clovis, it might be a good time to shove those Ughs to the back of the closet until December. That goes for the fashionista I saw two weeks ago at River Park who was wearing Ughs with a super-short-see-your-butt-cheeks miniskirt and to the girl at Target three weekends ago wearing the boots with her super short-shorts.
I know Ughs started on the beaches of California -- and the brand likes to show models wearing some of the boots on the beach with shorts -- but, please, please, remember that the nearest water -- and cool sea breeze -- is 150 miles West.
As a compromise, I offer this tip: If you feel so compelled to wear the Ugh brand, buy a pair of these.
Yours,
Ugh-ed Out

Kathy,
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Travis
where are the pictures of the girls in super short skirts?
Happy 420 day, mdub. I was going to dedicate a whole post to you.
But didn't.
Damn, that would have generated a lot of hits on the beehive if you did, haha. It's 420 and I've been stuck at work all day. So much for the holiday.....
Reminds me of people wearing scarves in Fresno. You don't need 'em most days.
Speak for yourself, sister. I always carry a scarf with me -- you never know when some restaurant is going to be A/C crazy.
Smoke 'em if ya got 'em!

Pox on you Mahan.
Summer dresses with short skirts and uggs is my favorite look on a woman EVER.
I really don't get the Uggs thing....
Saddly, this is from a woman who thinks Docs and short skirts looks zzzzzexyyyyy....
They do this thing (the horsey set up in New England or out on Long Island and such)
People get all dressed up, wear sundresses and khaki's and such (kinda preppy) and then wear these big 'muck-out' boots (rubber ones) because the ground is usally soft and mucky in the spring...
so you'll come across these big tables all decked out, folks all ivy-leaguin' it,
TOTAL LLBean and Tommy style (various dresses happening, some pretty formal...)
--everybody slorching around in these big ol yellow and black mucky boots...
(we always just sort of shrugged and figured the rich were strange people.)
Uggs are a weird one and completely over used as a fashion accessory! Blech
What do you all expect from a trend started by Pamela Anderson!!!
So unattractive, completely inappropriate and stupid.
Only a bunch of followers would think it's "hip"
for your body to live in the tropics and your feet in antartica!!!
I find it highly amuzing that you changed the Ugg brand name to Ugh. Fitting for the tone of your story.
I think traditional Uggs are acceptable (during the winter season), but I saw some crazy "punk" uggs the other day that were pink with spikes. Aye, the Aussies have GOT to be rolling over that style.
