Downtown has its ebb and flow of restaurants, and we're in the midst of another new wave.
Kebab Xpress and the Holiday Inn's renovated Sky Room already are open. Teazer World Tea Market is throwing its first party on Saturday. And according to Fresno Famous, Fresno's Newsroom Café has a soft opening on Monday.

Kebab Xpress was pretty good. food was average but service was impeccable.

Kebab Express is excellent, in my opinion. The food is good (the chicken fatoush salad is huge!), the price is right and the people are very friendly (a couple of the girls already know my name...is that good or bad?). My co-workers and I have been nothing but impressed by the service and food at Kebab Express.
My co-workers and I have been eyeing The Newsroom for a few weeks already and really looking forward to it opening. Since the cafe at the Plaza closed, there's no where else to grab some chips and a sandwich or a cup of soup. I'll probably be trying it out on Monday, I'll make sure to report back.
Please support Kebab Xpress! It's so great to have quick, healthy, yummy food downtown.
@Rebecca: Well I dont know about healthy but it is quick.
@Tanya: Anytime a server/cashier/restaurant owner knows your name is a really REALLY good thing! It means they are taking the time to personalize their service and want to make you feel at home. Consider yourself part of the family!
Oh, and for you sushi lovers: Sushi Hana just expanded their dining area (must have been sometime this week) :)
