I usually fast-forward past commercials (thanks, DVR!), but if there were more like this one, I might stop and pay attention. Enjoy this PepsiCo commercial, set to air during the upcoming Super Bowl:
Ultimately, I don't really understand the commercial (why are the lights out at every single house on the street? Is it 2 a.m.? What kind of football game starts at 2 a.m.?). Still, silence truly is golden.

i hope people take it for what it is, and nutjobs don't think they're making fun of deaf people. because that would be...what's the word i want to use...mentally lacking? is that not too insulting?
I actually really like that commercial, very funny.

In response to Heather, they were being all inclusive by featuring the hearing impaired but there are crazy sexist undertones. See, the only neighbor they showed was a woman, because womenz hate teh football. So, all the husbands and boyfriends are off at the bars watching the game with their buds while all the ladies stay home and go to bed early, hence the lights are all off. Football is for the menz only!
And we all know that deaf men, don't watch the Super Bowl at bars because they may get smacked in the head with a crowbar for being disrespectfully quiet, the jerks!
/end sarcasm
but seriously, hmac, have you tried coke zero? recockulously good stuff. puts diet coke to shame.
No, I haven't tried it. I'm trying to wean myself off soda in general; unsuccessfully thus far. I limit myself to Diet Coke and caffeine-free Diet Coke, which is still ridiculously bad.
There was a story about this on the cover of the Business section recently - can't remember which day but I think Fri., Sat. or Sun. Explains the joke, which evidently originated in the deaf community. You can probably link to it.
It was in Saturday's paper. I saw it and thought, "why didn't have a little promo for Heather's post, so that people could watch the video?"
I just looked for the link, but couldn't find it now.
Either way, Beehive high-five to Heather!
lol - I'm already voting for it for best ad - but hope there's a lot of good ones - not so many chimps this time, maybe? they had their day, but really - ads have been kinda lame in recent years, IMHO
